Working Dog Radio episodes
- Episode 98: Larry KrohnYour Working Dog Radio hosts sit down with The Godfather of the E-Collar, Larry Krohn, and pick his brain! Krohn began his career as a federal agent in 1996, and has been “fixing the unfixable” dogs for over 20 years. Krohn mentions (several times, what a humble guy!) that he is not the inventor of the ecollar, and that he doesn’t necessarily like being known as the “ecollar guy”, but there’s no way around it - he has revolutionized the way we implement this training tool, and has seen incredible success in working dogs and pet dogs alike. His methods are simple; put pressure on, dog performs the behavior you want, remove pressure, and follow up with a reward. (For those of you following along, that’s doubling up the reinforcement!! ) So listen in, read his book “Everything You Need to Know about E Collar Training”, learn something, and get to training! We cannot thank Larry enough! To learn more about Larry and his training, visit http://pakmasters.com/. Check out his book Everything you need to know about E Collar Training.𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘, thank you to our amazing partners:@hits_k9 Training and Conference Jeff Barrett at 863-529-5113www.hitsk9.net @rayallenk9 www.rayallen.com ‼️Discount code “WORKINGDOGRADIO” for 10% off of your next order@southerncoastk9 877.903.DOGShttps://www.southerncoastk9.com @dogtraofficial www.dogtra.comDiscount code “WDR10” for 10% off of a single item over $200@horizonstructures 888-447-4337www.horizonstructures.com/commercial-dog-kennels @KineticDogFood 💻 www.kineticdogfood.com☎️ 513-615-6904 @quickdermbyvetcare www.vetcare.usDiscount code “10WDR” for 10% off of your first order@georgiapolicek9foundation www.gapolicek9foundation.org @tacticalpolicek9 🚓 www.tacticalpolicek9training.com @almk9equipment 💻www.almk9equipment.comDiscount code “WDRADIO” for 10% off of your first order@tripwire_operations_group www.tripwireops.orgMusic with permission by @brotherdege www.brotherdege.net#workingdogradio #broadcastingthebite1 hr 50 min
- Episode 97: Jimmy HatchWe cannot begin to express how fitting this Memorial Weekend episode is for us. We sat down with THE Jimmy Hatch, former Navy SEAL, extreme badass canine trainer and handler, and founder of Spike’s K9 Fund, and Emily Soccino, Director of Spike’s K9 Fund. (And yes, we fan-girled for a hot minute! ) This man is an undisputed LEGAND, and it was a pure honor to hear about his stories first hand. We cover his tales of being shot in war, feeling suicidal after Bergdahl and Remco (check out our interview with Toussaint for more deets on that!), accidentally shooting a dog, the dogs he’s trained and handled, including THE Spike (and the importance of Slim Jim’s!). And we got the low down on what makes Spike’s K9 Fund stand out from the rest; how 80 cents of every dollar goes STRAIGHT to the dogs, (unlike some other foundations), and how Jimmy wanted the organization to grow organically, and not off his fame as a former Navy SEAL. Jimmy holds a truly honorable and respected place in the Special Ops Community and the K9 world; so do yourself a favor - sit down, shut up, and pay the man some respect for what he’s done for our country, and for what he’s doing for working dogs through Spikes K9 Fund. And when you’re done listening to this episode, get your paws on a copy of his book, “Touching the Dragon”. Thank us later.HUGE thank you to Jimmy Hatch and Emily for coming on Working Dog Radio!
