This week I'm joined by 'Youngboy' Josh Smith in an extra-special episode whereby Josh has gone & done up his own version of this M.O.T.W.!! I think this was just great & gave us an opportunity to talk more about the 'art' & creation element of this whole thing than sometimes in the past. We chat all about this fantastic match, our art, the current COMPETITION & much more. A very fun episode! In my intro spiel, I chat about the whole gamut of things that I have going on right now; including travelling to Melbourne for this weekends' Lucha Fantastica event, various upcoming art shows & an update for the Chris Things Art "Match of the Week" COMPETITION! Episode 25; is here friends! So in lieu of guest-scheduling issues for our latest 'Match of the Week', I thought I'd just go ahead and do a solo 'mini-show' for you. This week was actually quite a momentous one for me. After a successful outing bringing my Chris Things art-swag along to Lucha Fantastica's Brisbane event, I've decided to expand my schedule & do my first ever interstate in-person art event for Lucha Fantastica's Sydney show this weekend! I talk all about this exciting development, some latest 'Way of the Blade' updates & the general wandering/meandering nonsense that you've come to expect.

Enjoy!!

Episode 24; is here pals! The latest in our "Wrestling Art Curator" special-edition interview series focusing on creatives in the 'Wrestling Art' space. This week I've got something a little different for you in the form of a chat with the esteemed creator of an amazing art installation/basement passion-project; Richard Beardsley of VIDEO PLANT!

@Video.Plant is a wacky, nostalgia-soaked walk down memory lane to the VHS stores of yesteryear. A ‘sanctuary’ for one of the most eclectic & amazingly, lovingly curated VHS collections (& all sorts of rad personally commissioned artworks & general ephemera) that I’ve been lucky enough to have my art become a part of. In this one we have a really fun chat about how this all came about, Pro Wrestling VHS collecting, art curation (& creation), a variety of wonderful B-Grade, schlocky cult classic goodness & the passion the melds all of this together.

In my intro monologue, I chat about my upcoming art-tabling at 'Lucha Fantastica' this weekend, & some exciting Way of the Blade updates!

Enjoy!!

Episode 21; is here pals! The latest in our "Wrestling Art Curator" special-edition interview series focusing on the art practices of rad wrestling-artists! I'm so darned stoked about this weeks' guest; Michigan-based artist, Lil Petey Puro / @Gotch_Style_Bong_Rips! A way-talented & unique fellow art-dude who's weird, wacky, retro skate vibes wrestling-art illustrations totally warm my heart.

We have a really fun little free-flowing chat here about many of our similar wrestling interests, Petey's wrestling-art journey over from the skate-art world, graffiti, our common love of Hunter S. Thompson/Ralph Steadman, developing a distinct artistic style & abandoning the chase for "being perfect". We also chat our common love for Eddie Kingston & just what it is that drives Petey to want to keep churning out his badass, unique blend of wrestling-art goodness. I think we both just had such a blast on this one.

In my intro monologue, I chat more about this past weeks' Brisbane Wrestling Art group show & my upcoming Artist Market event.

Enjoy!!

We talk all about this bloody great match along with much early 90s WCW nostalgia & all sorts of nonsense side-bars from Rick Rude's amazing selling of 'Atomic Drops', to the joys of mullet-moustachioed referees, to Sting/The Police musical recommendations. We also talk the AEW Reviolution PPV from Greensboro & the big retirement match of one of both of our favourites, the man called Sting.
