「And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.」　Amen.

  Jesus was in Betanya on Wednesday. Jesus stayed at Simon's house. At that time, Mary poured the expensive perfume on his feet in preparation for his burial. Meanwhile, Judas Iscariot had a plan to betray Jesus under the high priest. The way of the cross to save us was getting closer and closer.

May we get closer to the Lord's cross today as well.

　宮における最後の一日となった火曜日、この日は、イエス様は、自分に敵対する者たちたちや民衆や弟子たちとの問答に終始していました。今日の聖句は、その中の一節なのです。カエサルに税金を納めることは律法にかなっているかどうかの質問にイエス様が答えたのです。でも、その頃、大祭司や長老たちはイエス様を捕らえる策略を密かに練っていたのです。

　今日も、イエス様のみ言葉に耳を傾けることができますように・・・。

「And Jesus answered and said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they marveled at Him.」 Amen.

  On Tuesday, the last day at the Temple, Jesus held a long discussion with his opponents, the people, and his disciples. Today's verse is a passage in it. Jesus answered the question of whether it was legal to pay taxes to Caesar. At that same time the leading priests and elders were plotting how to capture Jesus secretly.

  This week is Holy Week. Let's review on the week before Jesus was crucified. He arrived in Betania about 3 kilometers north of Jerusalem on Saturday. Sunday is the day of Triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It is called "Palm Sunday". People expected him to be the King of Jewish Liberation, but he entered the castle as King of Peace with a donkey instead of a warhorse. Then, on Monday, he got angry at the high priest who was devouring profits in the temple garden, expelled him, and cleansed the temple.

　今週は、受難週です。イエス様が十字架に架かるまでの最後の一週間を辿ってみると、土曜日に、エルサレムより北へ３キロ程の距離にあるベタニヤへ到着しました。そして、日曜日には、エルサレムへ勝利の入城を果たしました。この日は、「棕櫚の聖日」と呼ばれています。民衆はユダヤ解放の王として期待しましたが、軍馬ではなく、平和の王としてロバで入城したのです。そして、月曜日、神殿の庭で暴利を貪っていた大祭司に対して、怒りを表し、追い出し、宮をきよめたのです。

　今日も、十字架の道行を黙想することができますように・・・。

『27:27 それから、総督の兵士たちはイエスを総督官邸の中に連れて行き、イエスの周りに全部隊を集めた。27:28 そしてイエスが着ていた物を脱がせて、緋色のマントを着せた。27:29 それから彼らは茨で冠を編んでイエスの頭に置き、右手に葦の棒を持たせた。そしてイエスの前にひざまずき、「ユダヤ人の王様、万歳」と言って、からかった。27:30 またイエスに唾をかけ、葦の棒を取り上げて頭をたたいた。27:31 こうしてイエスをからかってから、マントを脱がせて元の衣を着せ、十字架につけるために連れ出した。』

旧約聖書で預言された救い主イエス様は、預言通りに誕生されました。その使命は、私たちを罪から贖い、永遠の命を与えるためでした。その為に、罪なきイエス様が私たちの身代わりとなって十字架に架かって死なれたのです。それは、私たちをたくさんの呪いから解放し、イエス様の元へ招く為でした。死んで、墓に葬られ、三日目に蘇られたイエス様は、今も生きて働いておられるのです。今週は受難週ですので、イエス様の十字架の道行に心を思い巡らせながら、祈りながら過ごしていきたいものです。

　愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。あなたの打たれし打ち傷も、流されし血潮も、刺されし茨の冠も、すべてが私たちを救う為でありましたから感謝します。あなたのその大きな愛故に私たちが生かされたことをありがとうございます。この受難週にイエス様のことを思い巡らすことができますように導いてください。全てを感謝し、主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈りいたします。　　アーメン。

『イエス・キリストは、昨日も今日も、とこしえに変わることがありません。』　（ヘブル13:8）【新改訳2017】

　この世の人も国も環境も移りすぎていきます。人は生まれて、成長し、老いて、死んでいきます。誰も死なない人間はいないのです。国も環境も生まれた時代と死ぬ時代では随分と違ってきています。でも、イエス様は、過去も現在も未来も変わらぬ姿で私たちと共におられるのです。

　今日も、主を見上げつつ過ごすことができますように・・・。

「Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.」　Amen.

  People, countries, and the environment of this world change and pass. People are born, grow, age, and die.

There is no human who doesn't die. The situation in Japan is quite different between the time of my birth and death.

However, Jesus is with us in the same way as the past, present, and future.

May you look up at the Lord today as well.

　Both people and Kings change easily. Sometimes they're reliable and sometimes they're betrayal. However, God, the Creator, is choosing us and trying to save us. Even if we let go of God's hand, God will not let go. He is Reliable God anytime, anywhere.

　May we rely on the strength of the Lord today as well.
