『たましいに知識がないことは良くない。

　急ぎ足の者は罪に陥る。』

　ここでの「良くない」は、「罪深い」とも訳されます。熱心なのは良いけれど、周りが見えていない人、自分のペ－スで物事を進める人、私もそのきらいがあります。自分の計画を早く達したいという思いが強くなると、そうなることがあります。永遠の価値がどこにあるのか、本当の目標が何なのか、それを達成するためには何が必要なのかを考えると、神の知恵と知識が必要となってくるのです。

　今日も、神の前で心を静めることができますように・・・。　

「Better is the poor who walks in his integrity

　Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.」Amen.

People who walk with integrity and live a serious life are easily appreciated by people. But there are people in the Bible called Pharisees. They observed the law and prayed conspicuously. They were the kind of people who thought they were righteous and lived in such a way that they looked down on others. It is not impossible that such feelings may lurk in some of us. We need to pray daily in order to examine our own hearts.

　May we pray before the Lord today....

『貧しくても誠実に歩む者は、

　唇の曲がった愚かな者にまさる。』

　誠実に歩む人や真面目な生き方をする人は、人々から評価されやすいものです。でも、聖書の中にパリサイ人という人たちがいます。彼らは、律法を遵守し、祈りも目立つようにしていました。自分を正しいと思い込み、他人を見下げるような生き方をしているような人たちでした。私たちの中にも、そんな気持ちが潜んでいる可能性もないとは言えません。自分の心を吟味するためにも、毎日の祈りが必要なのです。

　今日も、主の前で祈ることができますように・・・。　

「Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

　And those who love it will eat its fruit.」Amen.

 The thoughts in our hearts become words and come out of our mouths. However, there are times when we have thoughts, but the words do not come out of our mouths. For example, words of gratitude between husband and wife. (Jeremiah 33:3) "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Praying to God can be a clue to a new life.

　May we be in contact with new words today....

『死と生は舌に支配される。

　どちらかを愛して、人はその実を食べる。』

　心の中の思いが言葉となって口から出てきます。でも、思ってはいても、なかなか口から、その言葉が出てこない時もあります。例えば、夫婦間での感謝の言葉とか。(エレミヤ33:3)『わたしを呼べ。そうすれば、わたしはあなたに答え、あなたが知らない理解を超えた大いなることを、あなたに告げよう。』 神様に祈ると、新しい人生の糸口となることでしょう。

　今日も、新しい言葉で接する事ができますように・・・。

「The first one to plead his cause seems right,

　Until his neighbor comes and examines him.」Amen.

  When something goes wrong, we tend to blame the other person and try to change them or get them to change. This may be especially true between spouses. But the best way to change is to change yourself. When you look at your own heart through God's eyes, you will see your own foolishness. You can look through your own eyes, through the eyes of others, but the most important thing is God's eyes.

　May we see through God's filter today....

『最初に訴える者は、相手が来て彼を調べるまでは、

　正しく見える。』

 何かトラブルが起きた時に、相手のせいにして、相手を変えようとしたり、変わってもらいたいと思いがちです。特に夫婦間ではそうかもしれません。でも、自分が変わるのが一番の近道なのです。神の目を通して、自分の心をみると、自分の愚かさが見えてきます。自分の目、他人の目、しかし、一番大切なのは神の目なのです。

　今日も、神のフィルターを通して見ることができますように・・・。

「A man's gift makes room for him,

　And brings him before great men.」Amen.

This gift is not bribery, but a thoughtful gift. Sometimes that small gift can do great work. I have heard a story of a small tract given by a friend, which he kept in his desk for about a year, but eventually went to church and believed in Jesus. The small tract led him to Jesus. The tract must have been filled with my friend's love, wishes, and prayers.

　May we pray for our neighbors today....

『人の贈り物はその人のために道を開き、

　身分の高い人の前にも彼を導く。』

　この贈り物は、賄賂的なものではなく、心のこもった贈り物なのです。その小さな贈り物が大きな働きをする場合があります。友人からもらった小さなトラクト、一年ぐらい机の中にしまっておきましたが、やがて、教会に行き、イエス様を信じたという話を聞いたことがあります。小さなトラクトがイエス様の元へと導いたのです。そのトラクトには、友人の愛が願いが祈りが詰まっていたのでしょう。

　今日も、隣人の為に祈ることができますように・・・。　

「The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge,

　And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.」Amen.

What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? I think knowledge is information and facts, and wisdom is how we apply and practice that knowledge. I think that knowing Jesus is knowledge, and believing and accepting Him and living together with Him is wisdom. (I Cor 8:2) "If anyone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know as much as he ought to know." Paul said. He went on to seek a higher knowledge, that is, wisdom.

　May we seek the wisdom of the Lord today....
