宮における最後の一日となった火曜日、この日は、イエス様は、自分に敵対する者たちたちや民衆や弟子たちとの問答に終始していました。今日の聖句は、その中の一節なのです。カエサルに税金を納めることは律法にかなっているかどうかの質問にイエス様が答えたのです。でも、その頃、大祭司や長老たちはイエス様を捕らえる策略を密かに練っていたのです。

　今日も、イエス様のみ言葉に耳を傾けることができますように・・・。

「And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "」　Amen.

　This week is Passion Week. Tracing the last week before Jesus' crucifixion, we find that on Saturday, he arrived in Bethany, about 3 km north of Jerusalem. Then, on Sunday, he made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This day is called "Palm Sunday" The people expected him to be the king of Jewish liberation, but he entered the city not on a warhorse but on a donkey as a king of peace. And on Monday, he expressed his anger against the high priest who was raging in the Temple garden, driving him out and cleansing the Temple.

　May we meditate on the Way of the Cross today....

『そして彼らに言われた。「『わたしの家は祈りの家と呼ばれる』と書いてある。それなのに、おまえたちはそれを『強盗の巣』にしている。」』

　【マタ21:13】

　今週は、受難週です。イエス様が十字架に架かるまでの最後の一週間を辿ってみると、土曜日に、エルサレムより北へ３キロ程の距離にあるベタニヤへ到着しました。そして、日曜日には、エルサレムへ勝利の入城を果たしました。この日は、「棕櫚の聖日」と呼ばれています。民衆はユダヤ解放の王として期待しましたが、軍馬ではなく、平和の王としてロバで入城したのです。そして、月曜日、神殿の庭で暴利を貪っていた大祭司に対して、怒りを表し、追い出し、宮をきよめたのです。

　今日も、十字架の道行を黙想することができますように・・・。

「So the people stood afar off,

　but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.」　　Amen.

Another translation has “black clouds” as “darkness. God is supposed to be light, but here he is darkness. God is hiding His glory. Just as Jesus was God, but became man and died on the cross in a miserable way, so God hid His glory and solemnly walked the path of the cross in order to save mankind. All this was done out of consideration for weak human beings. Herein lies the great love of God.

　Today, may we also reflect on the love of the cross of Jesus....

『民は遠く離れて立ち、

　モーセは神がおられる黒雲に近づいて行った。』

　別の訳では、「黒雲」は「暗闇」となっています。神は光の筈なのに、ここでは暗闇となっています。神は、その栄光を隠しておられるのです。イエス様が神なのに、人となってこられ、惨めな姿で十字架の上で死なれたように、人間を救う為に、その栄光を隠して、粛々と十字架の道を歩まれました。すべてが弱い人間をおもんぱかってのことでした。ここに、神の大いなる愛があるのです。

　今日も、イエス様の十字架の愛に思いを寄せることができますように・・・。　

5:22 すると、会堂司の一人でヤイロという人が来て、イエスを見るとその足もとにひれ伏して、

5:23 こう懇願した。「私の小さい娘が死にかけています。娘が救われて生きられるように、どうかおいでになって、娘の上に手を置いてやってください。」5:24 そこで、イエスはヤイロと一緒に行かれた。すると大勢の群衆がイエスについて来て、イエスに押し迫った。

お祈りいたします。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。ヤイロが信仰の試練に会い、必死に祈り、イエス様にすがり、信仰を守り切った結果、勝利を得ました。私たちがこの世の中にあって、いろいろな試練がやってきますが、最後まで信仰を守り通すことができますようにお導き願います。この祈りを主イエス・キリストのお名前によって、お祈り致します。アーメン。

「'Now therefore,

　if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant,

　then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people;

　for all the earth is Mine.」　　Amen.

The Israelites were never a people of treasure. They were a people who always grumbled whenever something went wrong. But God saw them as a treasure. He rescued them from Egypt with miracles, led them with a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud, provided water when they thirsted and food when they hungered, and never abandoned them even though they complained again and again. Just like Jesus who redeemed us from our sinfulness with the death of the cross....

　May we keep our hearts and minds on the love of the cross today....

『今、もしあなたがたが確かにわたしの声に聞き従い、

　わたしの契約を守るなら、

　あなたがたはあらゆる民族の中にあって、

　わたしの宝となる。全世界はわたしのものであるから。』

　イスラエルの民は、決して宝のような民ではありませんでした。何か問題が起きるといつも不平不満を言う民でした。でも、彼らを神は宝のように見ていたのです。エジプトから奇跡を持って救い出し、火の柱と雲の柱で導き、渇けば水、飢えれば糧、そして、何度も不平不満を言われても決して見捨てなかったのです。十字架の死をもって罪深い私たちを贖ったイエス様のように・・・。

　今日も、十字架の愛に心を留めることができますように・・・。　

「"If you do this thing,

　and God so commands you,

　then you will be able to endure,

　and all this people will also go to their place in peace."」　　Amen.

I Peter asked Moses when he was in the wilderness. There, Itero advised Moses, "Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens." And so,Moses heeds Itero's advice and is released from a great burden.

　May we continue to listen to and obey the Word of the Lord today....

『もし、あなたがこのことを行い、

　神があなたにそのように命じるなら、

　あなたも立ち続けることができ、この民もみな、

　平安のうちに自分のところに帰ることができるでしょう。』

　モーセの舅イテロは、荒野にいたモーセを尋ねました。そこで、イテロはモーセに忠告するのです。「あなたはまた、民全体の中から、神を恐れる、力のある人たち、不正の利を憎む誠実な人たちを見つけ、千人の長、百人の長、五十人の長、十人の長として民の上に立てなさい。」そうして、

モーセはイテロの忠告を聞き入れ、大きな負担から解放されるのです。
