In this episode, we consider the readings for the Proper 9, Year B in the Lectionary cycle: 2 Samuel 5:1-5, 9-10 & Psalm 48 or Ezekiel 2:1-5 & Psalm 123; 2 Corinthians 12:2-10; Mark 6:1-13.
We discuss the epic storytelling around David's kingship, the Psalm's imagery of God as stronghold, Paul's boasting, spiritual privacy, humility and thorn in the flesh, and Jesus' rejection at Nazareth.
