This week I get to sit back and chat with comic creator Lucy Sullivan Lucy's work i discovered during Hackney Zine fest and her book "Barking" and quickly fell for it. She has a powerful style and creates fantastic art work about subjects which really cut to the core of humanity.

We caught up to talk not only her work in comic but animation and the challenges within creating something like a graphic novel. Whilst all touching on what she terms this idea of being "A difficult women". That brings its own challenges in an industry which has been dominated by men and is still struggling at times to find a balance of representation.

We also get into the toxicity of online and the need to step back look at the world and think "Am I really having the argument I'd have in person?"

Ignore someone and they'll stop right? Right?! No that's not true, ignore someone and depending on their countenance for your approval they will continue or escalate what they do in order to get your attention of simply because they didn't care in the first place.

Something I was taught early as a child was not to do things for approval and whilst that is damaging as it teaches you to never seek approval even when you need it to progress it also means you're pretty hard to stop. So this week I talk about how ignoring art wont make it go away and will likely strengthen the lengths at least I am willing to go to to keep making it!

This week we're back on our folk history grind. In wanting to find out more about the folk world and the history or all things word of mouth I caught up with Amy Boucher who is a writer and researcher of all things folk tale. From the black country of the UK I.e out Birmingham way for those who don't know she caught me up on a few tales of the black death and drunk monks.

We also discuss how superstition became part of society and how it was potentially used to deal with trauma and humans simply wanting an escape rather than as a way of making stories memorable.

We sift through the cracks of what it means to be part of the folk lexicon and how country and urban stories tend to have different tones as well as having a good old chat about the world at hand.

This week I get introspective and talk my long term plan for myself, my dreams and how that has evolved over the years from when I was a kid wanting to lock myself in a room and tell everyone else to sod off to now where I want to lock myself in a room and help everyone else how they can get their own room.

Retiring from humanity is something the bitter, the hurt, the ultra rich want to do but you can't you cant as you're human and until cyborgs rule the world there isn't going to be change for that so lets talk hurt. Lets talk emotional growth and lets talk rebuilding a system where people have the tools to do that.

You know when you're scrolling through reels and you see those cute videos of animals and you wonder "What is this person all about?" Well this week I got to find out!

This week I sit down with Duck enthusiast and genuinely lovely fella Jimmy Longbottom who runs a duck ranch out in Cincinnati. I saw his videos on Instagram and was hooked with his humour but also his approach to educating and ethically sourcing his animals. Don't worry though his ducks aren't for meat just for their eggs and he also keeps many a drake as he takes in all kinds and even a couple of chickens.

Armed with a man with extreme knowledge about poultry we chatted ducks of course but also controversy surrounding conversations online and approaches to food re: veganism/vegetarianism and how those conversations can escalate in the internet bubble. We also try to dispel some myths about ducks and the bread saga.

Throughout my life I have been told one thing often. "We don't have much but we have enough" and this is a true statement of my youth and something I try to maintain today. SO today we're doing a dive on wealth. Some would say again.

But this week I'm talking about this aspiration for wealth which has overtaken the main media as the main goal. I ask which goal you're on and look into the difference between the two terms. I'm almost definitely verging on telling you how to live in this one but more so asking why is there a want to live "rich?" When you could build something much more substantial than wealth.

So? Are you living rich or are you living well?

This week I get change to visit the furthest away I have visited via the podcast as we hook up with Japan and Zine maker/reviewer Craig Atkinson!

I've been wanting to chat with Craig for a while as he's lived what seems like a dynamic life across the globe and found himself with a world view wide of my own which I love hearing about. This week I do something I never really do and get specific about a company but it's hard not to when they are setting a good example! So I'll prefix this with Tony's chocolate I have not idea if you're reading this but I love your product but you do pose a conundrum conceptually.

If you haven't guessed this week I sit down to talk about the "recent" advent calendar controversy surrounding chocolate company Tony's who make amazing ethically produced products however the format in which they spread their message is one of contention so we're here to discuss!

Is ethical bullying a thing? Can you price out an audience and greenwashing from clothing brands as I take a dive at discussing when concept overrides consumer and as whether "Chocolonely" is actually a product or just a concept piece of art?

This week I sit down to discuss my own self destructive behaviour, curious of if others do the same but also reasoning why I noticed it and how that relates to my own self worth. I found over the years it's a reaction I've used to many situations and noticed it in other of in moments of peril or strife that I can turn the conversation or the moment to be less dangerous by making myself the butt of the joke.
