Bohemia Yerba Mate is USDA Organic certified and Unsmoked. They offer a product as clean as you can get, especially because by being unsmoked the product has very, very low PAHs, versus most of the brands with high levels of PAHs.

I tried this yerba recently--it's clean and awakened me in the morning I drank it

#036 --If you're wondering how to drink yerba mate the traditional way, here's what I recommend as a "starter kit" to give you everything you need to start today!

• I recommend a stainless steel "gourd" or mate, as they are easy to clean and economical. These kits come with the bombilla (the straw for drinking yerba mate)
• Most kits come with the pipe cleaner brush for cleaning your bombilla
• These brands I have used and recommend, they also come with your choice of yerba
• Mentioned in this episode:
  • Yerba Crew's starter kit
  • Kalmateh starter kit
  • Abrazo starter kit (only the mate and bombilla for this set)

#031 -- Have you seen yerba mate at a convenience store or gas station in one of those aluminum cans? Today, I'm joined by Sergio, the founder of Icaro Yerba Mate which is brewed in Baltimore, Maryland. Sergio originates from Peru and share the story of how he found yerba mate for healing and how they produce their yerba mate in cans. You can find out more about Icaro on their website and also on Instagram @Icarotea

Summary:
   - Sergio and Devin discussed the origin story of Sergio's company, Ikaroyaramate. Sergio shared how his Peruvian background and experiences with Yeromate in South America, as well as his brother's inspiration from Club Mate in Germany, led to the creation of their canned carbonated cold Yeromate drink, which blends traditional and modern aspects while also supporting music and arts education in Baltimore.
  - Devin and Sergio discussed the Living Classrooms program in Baltimore, which provides after-school programs for low-income families. Sergio also talked about his experience growing up in Baltimore
  - Sergio and Devin discussed the difference between their brand and other big brands in terms of using real brewed tea versus extracts. Sergio argued that using extracts is more similar to soft drinks, while their brand stays true to the essence of yeramate by brewing and infusing tea.
  - Sergio and Devin discussed the traditional method of consuming yerba mate tea, emphasizing the importance of staying true to the traditional way while also making it appealing to the fast-paced American crowd. They also mentioned different flavors, including Mint, Raspberry, and Hibiscus.
  - Devin and Sergio discussed the possibility of re-releasing the discontinued "plain" flavor, as it received interest from customers. They also mentioned the popularity of the mint flavor and Sergio's personal favorite, the raspberry flavor.
  - Sergio and Devin discussed plans for a new flavor of Icaro Yerba Mate, aiming for a more traditional and smoky profile. They also mentioned the launch of a Shopify platform for selling Icaro Yerba Mate and offered discounts and perks for subscribers.
