Carl Jung is famously quoted as stating, "What you resist not only persists, but will grow in size". This means that by fighting against unwanted thoughts, feelings, or situations, you actually give them more energy, making them stronger and more dominant in your life, a concept often summarized as "what you resist persists". So what’s the solution? To just surrender? Yes it is. William James said, "Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune". However to do so takes faith. It takes committing our faith into the belief that Divine Order is active and always at work. Trusting that arrangements are being made on the unseen plane for your greatest good makes it easier to surrender. Why not for just one day try the following experiment? Whenever tempted to fight against people and conditions put your absolute faith in responding with an internal, “Yes, and…”. It’s seems to awaken a joyful expectancy. The statement, “I wonder what wonderful thing will come from this?” does the same. Today’s guest Joan Steadman joins us to share examples of how surrendering in this ways always invites unexpected good fortune into our lives.
