Have you ever needed a hug? Most women will quickly respond to needing a hug. There are some overly masculine men who will deny that they need a hug. But they're lying to themselves and others. There are times when we all need a hug. Loneliness or the pressures of life endeavor to enclose us and separate us. But there's something about a friendly embrace that heals all that. I'm not talking about a romantic embrace but the embrace between family members and close friends. I believe that God has created us to be in a family for his most common name in the New Testament, is father. In a loving family there are hugs and kisses. Remember God created us in his image so it begins with him. If you need to be reminded that God loves you and wants to give you a hug give a listen.

There are different terms that are used to describe relationships. Superficial or shallow depict relationships that have no substance. A casual relationship well not render lasting results between the individuals involved. Then there are the one-sided relationships where only one individual is giving while the other is only taking. Some of us require healing from these types of relationships. Then there is a deeper term used which is a meaningful relationship. This relationship has depth and therefore substance. In a meaningful relationship there is a give-and-take where both parties receive good. Both parties are elevated. But how do we obtain meaningful relationships? For many people who have been working at a job for a number of years without a raise it can be difficult to approach the boss and ask for an increase on the paycheck. Being bold enough to declare ones worthiness of a raise is not easy for most folks. Most of it boils down to how good is your boss? Is your boss bossy or are they kind hearted? Are they approachable or do you wanna hide from them as much as possible? When it comes to our relationship with God the Father how do we feel about making requests to him for things that we need? Do we think he is approachable or do we want to hide from him like Adam did. Are we afraid of God or in awe of him?  What is stopping us from approaching our loving, merciful and gracious heavenly father? Stopping us from being able to simply speak or chat with him and then to make a request of him for ourselves?  All too often due to fatigue and stress we seek to turn our brains off. We want to veg. We don't want to think about everything that's going on and we need something healthy to occupy our minds. Watching professional athletes or professional musicians or professional anything is amazing because they make it look easy. Those who have trained in their field faithfully for many years have acquired skills that make us amateurs feel and look silly trying to attempt what they do. I can't do that! But what is it that we can do? Learning is a process that takes time. What we can do is make time to learn and grow. Knowing where you are in your skill level, being honest about who and what you are is the beginning of personal growth. First thing we can do is believe that we can do. For myself as a Christian I know I can do all things through Christ. Some days I believe that more than others. If you need some help accepting the truth about who you really are - give a listen.

Life is challenging and can produce traumas. Jesus warned us that if we live in the world we would suffer tribulation or mental pressure. He then went on to say be a good cheer I have overcome the world. We are designed to be Overcomers. We are designed to be conformed to the image of God's son and be victorious. We are designed to be more than conquerors. We did not evolve we came about by intelligent design otherwise known as God The Father's loving intent and purpose. We are not to live as victims of trauma. And though you may be going through one right now it is not God's intent for you to stay there.

God does not bring evil upon his children. God desires all men to be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth. God's desires for the wicked to turn from their evil ways and come unto him. God wants you to walk in victory, so if you're having trouble doing that give a listen.

Are you stuck in a rut? Does some thing have a hold of you and won't let you move forward? Or are you holding on to something and refuse to let go? Sir Isaac newton was one of the first to write about the laws of motion. the first law is, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it.

What force will it take for you to move forward in your life? Another way of saying it is an object at rest will stay at rest unless someone kicks it. It can be seen throughout all history that most people want to fit into a family, a workforce, a team, a culture, a society. People have gone to great extremes to be in the in crowd. Some people wear the skin of the chameleon so that they can blend in anywhere they go. The unfortunate part of that is that their inner soul can become corrupted with the change between skins. To which skin will the person always be true? And how can the soul of that person not become fragmented or shattered?

What is the price worth paying to fit in? What part of our heart are we willing to eliminate to be accepted by others? And the greater question is are we willing to stay true to a code of ethics or morals? Is there a line in the sand that we will not cross? Will we be true to our beliefs?  Is there a noble purpose to live our lives for? What are you willing to do to live beyond the decay of society? Every day it seems there is a new challenge to be faced. A new obstacle to maneuver around. There is a constant battle to cling to hope in a world that is broken. How do we maintain hope in darkness? How do we hold on to peace in chaos? How can we find rest in turmoil? How can we have Joy in loss?

To look at the world with only my eyes my heart and soul will soon be crushed. But in the spirit of God within me lies the power to stand. Within the spirit of God within me there is life, there is joy, there is peace! Though I live in this world I am not of this world nor was my savior Jesus Christ. By the grace of Jesus and his great mercy I have been seated in the heavenly‘s and all who believe in him have also risen above this world to be seated at the right hand of the father.
