  • Return of the Jedi

Join Anders, Colleen and Daniel as we return to Tatooine and the Death Star to discuss Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Daniel thinks his brother overstated how bad the Special Editions are, Colleen has NOTES on Princess Leia and the Gold Bikini, and Anders notices that this is the time when Stormtroopers go from intimidating to bumbling fools. Daniel is a little salty that the Wookies were replaced by Ewoks but Anders is desperate for the Ewok films to come out on Disney+. While we all tend to agree this is the weakest film in the original trilogy, we still love it and are interested in how Emperor Palpatine gives us our first real insights into the Dark Side of the Force. To end, as always, we give our recommendations for content you will enjoy if you like Jedi as much as we do.

  • The Empire Strikes Back

Join Anders, Colleen and Daniel as we parkour through the swamps of Dagobah to discuss Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back! We discuss how this film is so perfect that even George Lucas hasn’t felt the need to completely redo it through edits. We all agree that this is our favorite Star Wars movie, is more or less the perfect example of a sequel, and that Han and Leia are ON FIRE throughout this film. This movie does a great deal to expand on our concept of Force and how the galaxy fares under the rule of the Empire. We laugh about the pitfalls of retcons with Luke and Leia’s twincest kiss. As always, we end with our recommendations for content you might like if you are a fan of ESB.

  • A New Hope

Join Anders, Colleen and Daniel as we take a hyperspace trip down memory lane to discuss Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope! We’ll marvel at the Box Office numbers, reflect on the NUMEROUS updates that the film has gone through (major shout out to Marcia Lucas’ original editing prowess! Not as much of a shout out to digital Jabba the Hutt....) and discuss how our relationship to Star Wars has evolved through the years. Anders beats Colleen to the punch and gets in a Rebels shoutout! We share the most untouchable and (somewhat) unbearable moments from the film and then consider how, despite launching a Fandom Religion, this movie is pretty scant on details about the Force. Finally, we provide some content recommendations for you if you are also a big Star Wars fan.
