  • The Clone Wars (2008)

Colleen, Daniel and Anders start diving into the non-Skywalker Star Wars films with 2008’s The Clone Wars. We may vary a little on how Ahsoka Tano was introduced to us, but we definitely agree that she’s one of the most consequential and interesting characters in Star Wars. We are here for more Ventress, and as little Ziro the Hutt as possible. This movie is often forgotten among fans, but we agree that it’s a fun ride to go on!

  • The Rise of Skywalker

In this Super-Sized episode Colleen, Anders and Daniel get ALL of their thoughts out about 2019’s Rise of Skywalker. We all agree that there are some cool things in this movie, but as a Star Wars film, and as a movie in general, it mostly fails to execute on its premise. While we love the introductions of Babu Frik and D-O, we can’t forgive JJ Abrams for covering Keri Russel’s face and hair! Daniel lets it all out about what he thinks is wrong with this movie, and Colleen and Anders share their frustration about the lack of holocrons.

  • The Last Jedi

Colleen, Anders and Daniel are joined by Bohemian Geek Studies’ Sara O’Connor to discuss The Last Jedi! Rian Johnson’s entry in the Skywalker Saga has divided fans, and we are no exception! The movie that divided fans has some division among us as well! Nevertheless, we can all agree that this movie is bold and beautiful! Anders is all in on Snoke’s swagger but Sara thinks he looks like a Hugh Hefner ball sack! Colleen just can’t get enough Holdo, but Sara thinks she just falls flat. We can all agree that she does not owe Poe anything though! Daniel is all in on Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver in this movie. Finally, we all revel in Mark Hamill’s excellence and Luke Skywalker’s swagger as he Force-Projects himself across the galaxy!

Colleen, Anders and Daniel are joined again by Bohemian Geek Studies’ Flo Siegel to discuss Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith! Daniel starts out with the defense of the film and just wants a cut with more Wookies and Kashyyyk! Colleen has some words for how Padme’s character is treated but also can’t get enough Ian McDiarmid. Flo and Anders have a bonding moment over their shared general dislike for this one as Flo wishes there was more work done to develop Anakin’s character and fall. Then Anders lets it all out with his takes. In the end, we all love Star Wars and will continue to love it for years to come!

Anders reveals he was the main contributor to the box office for this movie and Daniel loves a good car chase. Colleen shares her mixed feelings about Mace Windu and we all agree that 200 lightsabers lighting up in the arena was EPIC! This one gets steamy up in the Naboo Lake Country y’all!

  • The Phantom Menace

Almost 20 years later we head to the past! Colleen, Anders and Daniel are joined by Sara from Bohemian Geek Studies to reminisce about Episode I: The Phantom Menace! We remember the hype leading up to seeing this movie for the first time and have a good-natured disagreement over Jar Jar Binks (but we all agree that Darth Jar Jar would have been EPIC). Colleen gets to gush a little bit about Darth Maul and we all lament how little he was in the film. Daniel can’t get enough of the pod race but Anders and Colleen both think it went on for too long. Sara mourns the loss of Qui-Gon so early in the series and we all agree that Padme and her handmaidens don’t get enough credit for how stellar they really are. As we are wont to do, we shout out John Williams and his amazing Duel of the Fates as one of the films highest points while some of the dialogue between Anakin and Padme is certainly the lowest.

  • BONUS Episode: Fanboys (2009)

    Number: 104BONUS

    Title: Fanboys (2009)

    Description/Show Notes:

Colleen, Daniel, and Anders take a look at the 2009 comedy, Fanboys. We marvel at the ridiculousness of the plot, cringe at some jokes that have NOT aged well, and take an introspective look at what it means to be a “fan”. Anders has never seen a real life Star Wars vs Star Trek fight and Colleen (lovingly) schools Daniel for calling TNG “The Patrick Stewart one.” We take a 2021 critical view on this 2007/2009 representation of fandom in 1999, including how women and LGBTQ fans fit into the mix (spoiler: they do, if you don’t like it, too bad. Luke Skywalker would have hated you). Wherever you fall on the SW Fandom spectrum, we enjoy the fact that these stories can bring people together and that fandoms can help you find your place, just like we did.
