I just wanted to know more about the Holy Spirit. Instead, I got a lesson on what he thinks that other Christians not as enlightened as himself believe. I really don't care about the flood of error out there. I sure don't need hours on end to hear what he thinks about other Christians; who, if I understand the Bible correctly, he is supposed to love.

If you are looking for a brother bashing this is your book. In all fairness after a few hours of this, I could not listen to any more. I kept hoping for scripture and there were some great insights and scriptures. But it was too little too late.

I hope that it is more scripture based instead of his personal beliefs based, as the book goes on. I just couldn't take it anymore.

It helps to guide and keep the right focus on your prayers of many many different areas, and includes an area to write either, dates of a request or an addition to the example they provide.

A book to buy and to share with everyone who longs for closer communion with God

In a beautifully designed hardcover format, Jack Countryman has released a lovely gift book on prayer. Specifically, itâs about helping folks pray more effectively, with more heart and more purposeful intent. Unlike other journal-like prayer books, Countryman has written this text to be instructive as well as practical (and pretty).

The first pages open with a welcoming statement that God listens when we pray. Similar to Sarah Youngâs style from JESUS CALLING, where she writes from the perspective of Jesus speaking directly to the reader, Countrymanâs first pages have God assuring His children that He does listen. Next, the Introduction does just that: introduces the topic and principle of prayer to the reader. The author shares why prayer is the vital communication tool between God and His followers. He also reminds Christ followers that prayer âis the noblest activity of the human soul and it reveals much about an individualâs spiritual condition.â

narrator terrible. he mostly mispronounces padre pio's name. plus I couldn't listen to the way he just listed the quotations.

What I have been looking for.

I have been wanting to fast for a few years for spiritual reasons but did not know how to begin. This book encouraged me by directing me toward Biblical examples of fasting and it gave me the option of several different methods of fasting. I am looking forward to choosing a day and a method. I am hoping to see positive results in spiritual growth and spiritual well being. Hopefully I also will be stronger physically to serve the Lord.

"Unbind him, and let him go," the voice returned. He felt coarse hands on his arms as bandages were unwrapped from him. Coolness came over his skin where they had been. Lazarus breathed heavily, unsure of what was happening.

He had a vague memory of being sick before this. He was barely aware of who he was. The cloth over his face was pulled away and he squinted as sunlight blinded him. A bearded man with long, wavy hair stood in the light. Jesus, he thought in disbelief as the man approached, placing his palm on Lazarus' forehead. "You are healed, brother," Jesus told him as Lazarus' sisters rushed to his side. "You are still needed in this world."

Beautiful Story

This is one of my favorite books by this author, but to HEAR it gave it a whole new dimension. I felt as though I was with Lazarus the whole time. I FELT his sorrow, his pain and his joy.

What a beautiful story about someone we know so little about.
