After a bit of an unintentional hiatus, we’re finally back behind the microphones—and we owe you a bit of an apology. We haven’t exactly been the most diligent podcasters lately. Life got busy, schedules got tangled, and somehow the weeks slipped by faster than we expected. But the good news? We’ve still got plenty to say… maybe more than ever.

In this episode, we catch up the way we know best: by talking about everything. From our weekly happy hour stops at spots all over Columbus to Amir’s travels up to Ohio’s North Coast, we cover some ground. Along the way, we digress—as usual—into the many follies of air travel, the quirks and occasional misadventures of hotel stays, and the little stories that somehow always seem to find us.

And because the calendar demands it, we wrap things up by looking ahead to our plans for St. Patrick’s Day. If history tells us anything, it’s that when we start gabbing, we rarely know when to stop.

 Halloween is here — and that means ghouls, goblins, ghosts, and… an alarming amount of candy! What’s truly terrifying, though, is how much of it Amir and Mark can actually eat. In this spooky-sweet episode of You Gonna Eat That, we dive into the best treats to snag on beggars night, from classic chocolate bars to underrated chewy delights. Plus, we’re unwrapping a few of our favorite (and slightly embarrassing) Halloween stories from years past. 

 We haven’t had much time to sit down and record lately, but that hasn’t stopped us from exploring plenty of restaurants, diners, and dives across central Ohio. This episode is a tribute to the past six months of delicious research Amir and Mark have done in search of the best breakfasts, brunches, lunches, dinners, and overall vibes. There are so many great spots to choose from—so if you have a favorite we haven’t mentioned, we’d love to hear your recommendations! 

Lots to unpack in this episode as it's been a while since the last . . . Amir was deep in the heart of Texas while Mark was enjoying enjoying some pizza in Bentonville, AR. Happy 25th Anniversary to the Dublin Village Tavern and you have to try Bear's Bagels in Hilliard. A serious discussion and a call for feedback from our listener(s) about tipping at carry out establishments. We're also seeking feedback on the best burger and pizza joints in central Ohio. 

As we set our sites on the new year, in this episode we discuss the places we visited since starting this podcast and those eateries we'd like to visit in the new year. By the way, we're taking requests. It's been a fun experience so far and we look to get our more so we have more to share with our listeners. Wishing all our friends a happy and healthy new year as we resolve to ask the question again and again - you gonna eat that?

Thanksgiving is just days away and with it comes the Holiday grazing season -- the time of year when we say yes, I'll eat that. In this episode Amir and Mark discuss the traditions before, during and after Thanksgiving including everyone's favorite, the day-after turkey sandwich and the eligible ingredients. We also chat about a couple local distilleries/eateries in central Ohio and some ideas for holiday parties where you can support our local restaurants. There's a lot to chew on in this episode so you might want to take it in small servings.

Our apologies for the long delay between episodes. It's been a busy few weeks between special family events and exciting new opportunities. It doesn't mean though that we didn't "Eat That." While in Cincinnati Amir and Mark hit some new and well-known stops in the Queen City. Separately they tried Sow Plated, a new(ish) vegan restaurant in Upper Arlington. Try the cashew pimento cheese crostinis!!!! And Mark ventured out with his co-workers for their annual quest for the best fair food at Ohio's last and arguably finest county fair.

After a couple busy weeks, we were unable to get to any of our (your) favorite dining spots. So we decided to discuss the thing that makes a good dining experience an excellent one . . . the service. Hey it's Saturday morning, so of course Amir took Mark to Shawnee Hills and his favorite breakfast spot, Hellas, where he achieved Zen with a bowl of fresh seasonal fruit followed with an omelet and crispy bacon. Our field research continued in Italian Village north of downtown Columbus to visit Mark's new favorite brunch spot called "Drunch." Whatever calories we burned in our morning workouts was quickly replaced (and then some) for this episode . . . Always Time for Breakfast. 

For our second episode, we journey to the left bank of the Scioto River in Dublin, OH to visit a few of our favorite go-to restaurants. The thing is, we don't go for the full meal items for which each establishment is best known. Today's "field research" is about eating at the bar and sampling a few of the small plate items on the menu. Some surprises were discovered and enjoyed along with a few of our favorites that did not disappoint. We were pleased to also be joined by good friend Tom who offered some input and foodie feedback.
