Hank Young has photographed people in 47 states and a dozen foreign countries since his career began in 1970. His subjects have ranged from heads of state and CEO’s to field hands and ditch diggers.
As Kansas native, he was educated in Atchison and Lawrence, Kansas. He received two degrees from the University of Kansas, later teaching at KU and Haskell University. He was decorated for his service in Vietnam.
Young’s photos have been published internationally in a wide range of magazine: Time and Newsweek. People and Cosmopolitan, Sports Illustrated and Gold Digest, Forbes and Fortune. His work also appeared in the pages of the London Times, New York Times and the Washington Post. Sports photography has taken him to the Olympics, World Series, World Cup, Indy 500, Super Bowls and many NCAA championships. He spent 42 years working in the NFL. Young’s corporate and advertising photography has appeared in annual reports and other materials for companies such as AT&T, Sprint, Southwestern Bell Corporation, Pepsico, and Northwest Airlines. Hank and his wife Barbara, reside is Fairway, Kansas.
