As an empath, I rarely tie my energy to a crisis or disaster. I do however offer help where I can or make a donation. We share the world with every living being on the planet and we need to support each other. I realize there are a lot of worthy causes in the world right now, but I want to address the urgent need for critical help in Turkey.
I also want to thank everybody for their kind messages.I am safe and I so appreciate the concern. Obviously the devastation in my adopted home is heartbreaking. Turkey has some of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. It is a society based on strong family values and inclusive hospitality. I was welcomed with open arms at a time when I needed it most so Today's episode is dedicated to how you can help!
If you would like to make a donation towards the rescue efforts or to provide critical supplies such as blankets, food, diapers, etc. there are several trusted ways to help. Even $5 which is roughly 90 tl makes a difference.
This is also an opportunity to involve children in the process. Learning empathy and offering a unique perspective on what homeless children desire most.
Thank you in advance, please share this episode with anyone you feel can help. Aid will be needed for several years so even if you are seeing this after 2023, support will still be useful.
What You Can Do:
1. For those of you around the world in a city with a Turkish Embassy or consulate, they are taking donations of blankets, flashlights, hats, gloves, hygiene, products, diapers, formula etc. You can drop them off in clear plastic bags. Amazon also offers disaster, relief, packages that you could have sent to the embassy. In the US, Turkish Airlines will be flying the supplies directly to the areas in need.
