The newly appointed judge overseeing the trial of rapper Young Thug issued several important rulings this week, following a series of delays and complications that have plagued the proceedings, including arrests within the courtroom and the removal of the initial judge from the case.

Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Williams, faces trial in Georgia on charges related to racketeering conspiracy, involvement in criminal street gang activities, as well as drug and firearm offenses.

Prosecutors contend that he has breached the state's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, which penalizes individuals operating within a criminal organization.
The trial has extended over a year, with jury selection commencing in January 2023 and taking nearly ten months to finalize.
