Welcome to another show here at, "Your Place".  Tonight Wild Bill is going to chat with us about his thoughts on the church today.  Many people say they are against the fundimental ideas of the church and how it should be willing to change with the times.  Wild Bill is not only going to give you his thoughts on this but also shares some of the most fundimental things that a real church should have in it.  The internet ate part of the first section and due to time constraints we could not get it fixed for this show.  We apologize for this but there is enough of the meat of where he is coming from that you still can get his thoughts understood on the topic.  As always we look forward to your comments or questions at the end of the show.

Last week we brought you part 1 from a documentry made on the results of the 911 Commission.  I do not ever want to forget what happened on that day, and want to point out to all americans your freedom of voice.  We started to skip part 2, but was amazed at all of the people who informed us they could not wait to hear the rest of this story.  As my sister Joy points out, we are all at different places in our path and nothing is random.  As we listen to this show I pray that it gives all of us pause to pray and listen to what these family memebers did to make this report happen, and how they followed up with taking what was discovered to have changes implemented.  Who knows, maybe one of you may have a suggestion, or something you see as a weakness to our national security.  Your letter or call to your political leaders could be the what keeps something like 911 from ever happening again.  As people of faith, I pray that this shows you a bigger picture of this world.  We are not so sheltered in our church families!  But are we?  I remind all of you to not get caught up into sound bite news.  Listen to entire speeches and do not let your opinion be based on the edit of what is really going on around the world.  Either plug in or unplug.  Let your opinions be based on facts!  What God did on the day of pentecost was not hidden from the world.  Yet there are so many denominations that are missing out on the promise that God said all had to have to make it to heaven.  Home security is important but how should it measure up to eternal soul security.  Mercy of God is for who so ever will.  The grace or unmerited favor of God for us to have power is the gift of the Holy Ghost.  You have the choice to except this gift or not. Which means you have a choice in making your eternal savation sure!

It is hard to believe that it has been 15 years since the attack on 911.  This is the first year that 911 is being taught as a historical event in our schools.  Time passes so fast but if we as Americans do not learn from our mistakes, we stand a good chance of repeating our mistakes.  With the upcoming presidential elections on the horizon, what happened on 911 shows how people who do not operate within the system can allow what we saw on 911 and with huricane Katrina to escalate much more then it should have.  For me I cannot forget being home sick and my grandmother calling to share that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center.  At first everybody was reacting as if it was an accident.  Then the second plane hit the other tower with millions of Americans watching live!  It was clear to everybody that this was a terrorist attack at that point.  But, tonight we are going to bring you information, that shows the organizations, federal offices involved, and even the military was chasing their tails.  Most of us until 911 felt like we were safe while we were on our home soil.  I still in my mind see people on the upper floors trying to wave papers and anything else they could find to get attention in a hope that help was coming.  I still see the people who were faced with the choice of being burned alive, they jumped from this high rise building instead.  People said the velocity of these bodies hitting the ground could be felt!  There was some brave families that lost loved ones on 911 that demanded the truth of what happened from the White House.  Tonight you will hear part 1 of this story.  I found myself shocked and in tears as I heard how all of the peices were known to the goverment to have put together a plan to have possibly stopped this attack from being able to take 3000 lives on that dreadful day.  As always we want to hear from you.

I pray that all of you have enjoyed your labor day weekend. Wild Bill has talked in the past of how he is pro union labor.  Did you know that organized labor started at a time when big business and goverment stood against the common worker? Imagrants flooded to this country for freedom.  During the industrial revolution a adult man could earn approx $1 a day but the same job could be done by a child for only 10 cents a day.  There were no limitations on work hours, wages, or working conditions. There is much history on where the employer would change your rate of pay after you had already completed the work!  Ready labor history and see how people were treated that would walk off of their jobs and get others to do the same.  People were arrested, shot, beat to death, and their names would be put on a no hire list for all companies in that city. Their homes were even burned and family members were targeted by police and armed thugs that the company would hire.  If a worker was killed in a coal mine in the early days.  The company would take the body to their home and place it on the front porch.  If they had been blown up, the body would be placed in a bucket and put on their front porch.  The family had one day to send someone else from that home to work in the mine, or move.  They were forced to pay rent that changed all of the time and many were paid script instead of money.  This could only be used at the company store, or for your rent in your company owned home.  Company store prices were much higher then other stores.   We all have the early labor movement to thank for 40 hour work week, time off, benefits and safety protections.  But the labor unions are now under attack with laws, and suffer from bad management too.  As always we open up the microphones at the end of this show to hear your opinions.

The message title is, "Being Good"!  As people of faith, if we spent more time trying to be good instead of pointing out faults in others.  What a wonderful world this would be.  But bring up the opinions of people on the issues of today, and opinions throw spirituality out the window.  Wild Bill will tell you that he understands that life is hard.  He understands being afraid.  He understands reaching out to people in need and finding out that water and dirt still makes mud!  Being Good is something that requires practice!  Bro. Phillip Francis used to say that it is not practice that makes perfect but perfect practice that makes perfect.  With people it is very hard to find out what perfect practice of being good is at times.  Why? Because to each person they see themselves as their ways are right! It is their emotions, their words, and their actions that are the most important.  Im always reminded of K-9 officer Dewy Kimbrell after his dog bit a theif running from a crime scene.  The man at his trial wanted to know who was going to pay his doctor's bills.  The judge responded with who got bit! The judge understood that a K-9 reacts to the person.  No matter how much this criminal was in denial the facts of the situation were clear.  Being full of the Holy Ghost will make things clear on being good if we will listen.

Thank all of you that take time to listen to our show tonight.  We know that you could spend this time doing something else.  Tonight we bring you a message that was preached by Kenneth Carpenter.  We live in a world of social media and we worry so much how our pictures look and the types of comments people post about us.  We are all so concerned about out image not just in social media, but also in our church family.  Nobody wants people to think bad of us.  What we forget is that there is a God who can see our heart and the intentions.  We talk a lot about the love of GOD, but then on our path forget that God is placing us on his scales.  You can read in Dan 5:27  where God made the statment, Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.  Have you seen people that seem to never be able to get ahead?  It seems like everything in their life is always a struggle instead of seeing blessings expanding in their life.  The image they try to put out to people is that we are Christ like in our heart and actions.  But you cannot fool GOD!  Life happens to all of us! But do we take the blessings that God has provided and bless others?  Many people treat God like a ATM of blessings.  Then forget that when much is given then much is required.  We pray that this sermon and the songs speak to your heart.  While there is life there is still time to repent and allow the power of the Holy Ghost to give you power to be more then an over comer. We have been reminded this last week of an epidemic that is coming against our youth! Teen Suicide! For people in church we feel so sheltered from the things of the world.  What we first forget as adults is that what seems so stupid in the news regarding issues like gender identification, drug expermentation, teen pregancy, and current moriality to name a few.  These are part of our kids, "right now world"!  We need to remember what it was like for us at that age.  Finding our identity is a big part of being a teenager.  We start to see during that time what natural talents we have, what skills are easier to perform, and start to match our dreams to reality.  What we see as shelter from these issues with church can actually be a wall that our youth can feel crushed up against if parents, church teachers, and church leaders treat these issues as not real issues.  We need to all understand that it does take a village to rasie a child.  Wild Bill has mentioned many times that he felt like he had several parents due to the people in his church plugging into his life.  As parents we all know that teenagers go through so many normal changes that match the signs of depression and thoughts of sucidie.  This show tonight is going to provide clinical information that was provided to a church by a mental health professional.  This topic has the issue of prescribed medical solutions in our research.  Many of you will be offended at this and want to make it totally a spiritual problem.  That is fine if you are praying for a covering all of the time for church youth.  But please do not use this as an excuse to not be aware! If you have a health issue, you take medication. Your health issue is real to you.  It is obvious from the statistics that teen sucide is real problem for our youth! This is not just a youth issue, so watch for these signs in adults.

Welcome to a very interesting show we have for you tonight.  It is hard to believe but out very own mom has gone viral on the internet this last week.  As you know she wrote and made a cd of gospel rap two years ago at the age of 74 to reach inner city kids with the powerful positive message of hope through Jesus.  If you live in the Jackson, Mississippi area you may have seen her with that smile handing out these CD's everywhere she goes.  This could be at any Yard sale, Walmart, and even when she was in the emergency room for health concerns!  She is the energy preacher that never stops. Last week she gave one of these to a man who just happened to be getting gas the same time she was there. We have watched in amazement as her hits on the www, jumped from 20,000 to 7 million as of Sunday.  There is no telling how many hits she has now!  Tonight she is going to tell us about the songs she wrote, how you can get the songs, and about her heart of outreach ministry.  As always we will open up the show at the end so you can ask questions or make a comment.
