She’s a clinical consultant, assisting clinical professionals, and organizations, in building equitable systems and effective processes, improving care practices, and prioritizing workplace wellness within organizational infrastructures. She is the author of two wellness journals, “Boundaries Are Self-Care” and “Free Yourself from Emotionally Immature Parents,” and a wellness blog and podcast entitled, ‘Prioritized on Purpose’ that focuses on helping millennials and women heal the relationship with themselves, feel good about themselves, and unapologetically be first in their own lives.

Guest bio: Faith Broussard Cade has almost 15 years of experience as a professional school counselor and mental health counselor and also worked as a baker and a food blogger, before shifting to writing inspirational affirmations on pieces of handmade paper and publishing two guided journals on the transformative power of self-care and self-love. Her work on personal healing, wellness, and self-care advocacy has inspired over 305,000 people and counting via social media to choose introspection, gratitude, and finding peace in things most take for granted. As a mental health counselor and coach, Faith helps others discover and appreciate that everything they need to step into their power and to create the lives they desire is already inside of themselves. She emphasizes self-exploration, kindness, and gratitude as the tools that equip us to live out this necessary truth. Faith holds a B.A. in English and French Studies from The University of the South: Sewanee, and a M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. She was born and raised in the heart of Cajun country in New Iberia, Louisiana, and currently lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, daughter, and son.

“So many people are suffering in silence.” -Shanika
In this episode, I am joined by Shanika, founder of Labor and Love. Shanika Valcour-LeDuff is a Family Nurse Practitioner who focuses on Women’s Primary Care and Maternal-Child Health. She has worked in women and children’s health for over 15 years, with over a decade of experience in OB services.
Shanika founded Labor and Love after experiencing her own hardships during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Through this organization, families receive support during the prenatal period through infancy including childbirth education, doula services, postpartum support, and mother-baby health services.
Shanika is passionate about the health, wellness, and well-being of all mothers, children, and families. She puts a lot of labor and love into all her work. The mission of Labor and Love is to educate, advocate, and empower women, using their motherhood journeys as a source of this empowerment.
Shanika strives to provide the highest quality of care to all of her patients and clients as well as equipping them to be active healthcare participants. She believes that strengthening the health and wellness of the woman, the entire family, and the health and wellness of the community can be positively impacted. Her life’s work focuses on educating and empowering patients while being a strong health advocate for them.
