I have had a lifetime of opportunities where I had the choice to Breakdown or Breakthrough... did I always make the “right” choice?  Nope.  I did however find a way to continue moving forward until I was able to see there was a path through my chaos into joy.  This Podcast may become your light in the darkness, as you listen to the stories of people I consider “heroes.” Each one had a point where they too had to choose to either Breakdown or Breakthrough!   In this episode we bring back our guest from one of the most listened episodes, Episode 8: “You’re an Abused Child, What Now?” We pick up where we left off in Shawn-Kristin’s story, being rescued by her “Earth Angels” from the Orphanage.  You will hear the Joy and Positive Gratitude in which she lives her life even though she has, and continues to deal with, health issues that were born with the trauma she experienced, as well as a life-changing accident she had just two years ago...   Shawn-Kristin Reynolds is a self-proclaimed “late bloomer” with aspirations of being a surgeon but later in life decided on a nursing degree as it fit in with the role she had taken on as a caregiver to many. She completed her Associate in Science of Nursing (RN) and was accepted to the fast track to complete her Bachelor of Science degree. Three weeks before the semester was to start, The University of Chicago Specialist, whom she was an oncology nurse, diagnosed her first bout with cancer.  The surgery that was meant to save her life, ended up leading to Kristin being off work for two years due to major lung insufficiencies, fibrosis, and inflammation after 3 Thoracotomies.     Despite her personal health challenges, Shawn-Kristin was known for her fundraising abilities and assisted individuals and organizations raise almost $270,000 for Children’s Advocacy, Transplant Operations, Scholarship Funds, and Nursing Programs.   In 2006, Shawn-Kristin designed, prototyped, trademarked, and copyrighted the “S-Klamp”, a safety clamp for I.V. – Patent Pending U.S. & International.   Please Connect with and Follow Shawn-Kristin:   Facebook:   Thank you for listening!
