  • Episode 54: "You're Defying the Breast Rule Book, What Now?" with Dr. Amanda Savage Brown
In this episode, myself and Dr. Amanda Savage Brown discuss her personal story of breakdown to breakthrough with breast implants and how it led to the first ever self-help book for women on their journeys of Breast Implants, Breast Implant Illness and Breast Cancer? "The Breast Rule Book" will be part of our discussion summary of the last 6 episodes of women who have experienced Breast Implant Illness and/or Breast Implant Associated Cancer. Dr. Amanda Savage Brown is a torchbearer for women navigating the psychosocial impacts of breast implants. She draws from her life's work in women's health that began while earning a Ph.D. in genetics, continued while working as an officer in the United States Public Health Service, and flourished as a clinical psychotherapist specializing in helping women reclaim their lives through mindful self-acceptance and values-guided change. In 2018, her personal life and professional expertise aligned as she moved through her breast implant removal journey, recovered from disabling pain she didn't realize was related to her body's response to breast implants, and witnessed countless women struggling with the deeply felt, yet poorly supported, mental, emotional, and social aspects of breast implant removal. To address these unmet psychosocial needs, Dr. Savage Brown created Breast Implant Through Explant (BRITE™) Inner Healing. It liberates women from society's quest for better breasts so they can bring their whole self forward as they choose to replace or remove aging or problematic breast implants and adjust to life after explant. It's the foundation for Busting Free, the first-of-its-kind self-help book for women whose life journeys include breast implants. I am your host, Marci Nettles.
