Welcome to YouRLight podcast, a safe space where we dive deep into conversations about mental health and well-being. I'm your host, Izabel Florence.
๐๏ธ๐๏ธ Welcome to the Emotion Series! I'm thrilled to have you join me as we navigate the complex world of feelings. Today's spotlight is on envy and jealousy โ two emotions often tangled in confusion.
Ever mixed up envy and jealousy? I certainly did. Envy craves what others have, while jealousy fears losing what's ours. It's easy to blur the lines, but let's untangle the web.
Envy, despite its negative rep, can be a guide. It reveals our desires, both external (material possessions) and internal (qualities like kindness). External gains offer fleeting pleasure, not lasting happiness. Building internal qualities, though, leads to less envy.
Jealousy steps in when we fear losing something. Change is life's constant, and accepting this tempers jealousy's sting. Attachments to external sources for happiness can lead to anxiety. Instead, we can cherish the present and embrace life's impermanence.
Remember, true happiness thrives within. Relationships enrich, but our core contentment isn't tethered to them. Join me next week as we dive into anxiety's depths. Until then, be curious, be aware, and take care. ๐๐
