Sai Lost is another relatively new podcaster who reached out to me thanks to my NRR appearance. I had a lot on my brain last week and let it all out on a rare Friday morning show. The Houston HERO vote (city votes down anti-discrimination law by large margin) really pissed me off as the right-wing marketers scrounged up another inaccurate scare tactic to get people to vote against equal rights.Another atheist activist was hacked to death in Bangladesh. It may seem petty, doing a show every week, but people are dying around the world and we need to support them and tell everyone that killing people who don’t believe with you is bad.I was on the No Religion Required show last Sunday night. It was tough for me to give up my Sunday evening football cult meeting to do so. No, I enjoyed hanging out with Bobby, Ashley, and the Prophet. In my godless podcasting career I’ve been on Bar Room Atheist, the Imaginary Friends dot com podcast, Atheist Roundtable, Beyond the Trailer Park, and NRR. You get all nervous and technical difficulty-esque and finish thinking you could have been sharper/funnier/made more notes. Before I write a novel in my notes, I’ll summarize the Biblical Gender Roles segment. Multiple shows covered it, including NRR, the story turned out to be fake but Ashley’s story of her abused past was not and worth the listen. Football corner: high school coach refuses to stop praying, even the Christians want him to stop at this point, we have a generation of “no consequences” martyrs out there who want in the spotlight with nothing at stake. He’s an Aussie who’s in the U.S. for the mandated maximum of 89 days with his girlfriend Xandi. On the relatively new show God Awful Movies, Noah, Heath, Eli and a special guest star talk about a Christian movie for about the length of the actual movie. This week’s special guest will be my guest on next week’s ZC, Nick Morgan-Moore. Last week they finished off the Left Behind trilogy, Kirk Cameron’s finest worst moment in acting, and this week was a sad excuse for film called Brother White. In Nashville, I attended a church turned music hall (The Ryman Auditorium), a Catholic mass with my parents (Jesus was pale as ever), and another former church turned secular gathering space when I saw Shelley Segal at the Atlanta Freethought Hall. I do compare hiring a financial manager with tithing at a church.I was given an honorary title by Promoting Secular Feminism. I’m now an honorary member of The Penis Gallery. I don’t know what that entitles me to other than making the ladies a sandwich. I did give more kudos to the Heath and Noah squad because Noah “played through pain” this week, doing their laughter-heavy show with a broken rib.
