China says it is confident, capable and ready to battle a domestic Ebola outbreak as it strengthens preventative measures.

China's health authorities said at a press conference that a national joint prevention and control mechanism can help China contain the disease in a timely manner in the event of an outbreak.

China has not reported any confirmed cases of the virus, but experts say risks exist with the rise in international travel between China and African countries. There have also been no confirmed Ebola cases in Chinese citizens living and working abroad or in Chinese medical workers helping to combat the disease in Africa.

China has devised contingency plans to give timely and effective treatment to Chinese citizens once there is a confirmed case abroad, including transferring patients back home if necessary.

Since the Ebola outbreak began, the Chinese government has taken the lead in responding to the appeals of the affected countries and the World Health Organization.

Starting from April this year, China has delivered three rounds of emergency relief materials to the affected countries. The fourth round is currently under way.

In addition to providing funds, food, and disease prevention material, China has also set up laboratories and holding centers and sent expert groups and medical teams to the affected countries.

Authorities of China's lunar probe program have called for a thorough analysis of data collected from the test lunar orbiter and speed up work on Chang'e-5, the star of the 2017 lunar mission.

With the test lunar orbiter returning a few days ago after an eight-day flight, China joined the Soviet Union and the United States to become only the third nation to realize a return mission to the Moon.

The authorities say that the mission was realized with stable flight and precision in launch timing, orbit entry and recovery; and all pre-set goals were achieved.

The mission marked a "breakthrough" and has heightened understanding of high-velocity re-entry mechanisms, development of new materials and innovative space equipment design.

Chang'e-5 will collect samples from the lunar surface in a mission planned for 2017.

China has designated December 4 as national Constitution Day amid efforts to enhance the document's implementation and advance the rule of law.

Nationwide activities to promote the Constitution will be held on the day.

China's top legislature adopted the Constitution on December 4, 1982, based on a previous version enacted in 1954.

Constitution Day is set to enhance social awareness of the Constitution, promote its spirit, and strengthen its implementation.

China says fully implementing the Constitution is the top priority for advancing the rule of law and building a country under "the socialist rule of law".

No organization or individual shall have the privilege of being placed above the Constitution. All activities that violate the Constitution must be reprimanded and rectified.

China's Internet regulators have warned mobile Internet operators not to seek profits by spreading harmful information.

The Cyberspace Administration of China says that previous cases of media reports hyping up bloody attacks on children or copycat suicides to earn click rates are believed to have incited malicious imitators.

Peng Bo, deputy director of the administration made the remarks at a recent conference on promoting the rule of law in mobile Internet regulation.

Peng says the Chinese government supports mobile Internet development, but he warned business operators not to spread information that violates the country's Constitution or content that undermines national security or social stability.

China is planning to draft or enact a series of laws and regulations related to cyberspace administration, including legislation regarding telecommunications, cyberspace security, e-commerce and personal information protection, as well as a regulation on minor protection in cyberspace.

China's web user population reached 630 million at the end of June, and mobile Internet users total almost 530 million.

A senior Chinese lawmaker has warned of increasing mortality due to lung cancer caused by air pollution. Of all cancers, the lung cancer mortality rate has increased the fastest in recent years.

Lawmaker Yang Wei is director of the National Natural Science Foundation and Standing Committee member of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature. He says that lung cancer is the top killer for men and the second largest killer for women, partially caused by accumulation of air pollutants.

He says people had always talked about smoking less to keep healthy, but one of the primary reasons for lung cancer is polluted air.

He told lawmakers discussing a report on the enforcement of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution, which was submitted to the top legislature.

Many parts of China are frequently smog bound during the coal-burning period in winter. North China's meteorological and atmospheric conditions help pollutants accumulate. Ozone in the air helps particles to accumulate if no wind disperses them.
