  • Marvel Comics Carnage Black, White, and Blood #2 review

Marvel is using Carnage: Black, White, and Blood to tell a series of short stories. Issue #2 has three separate stories about Carnage. Or maybe I should say there are three short stories where they just plugged Carnage in as the bad guy/protaganist.

    Publisher Description

    (W) Chip Zdarsky & Various (A) Ram V., More (CA) Marco Checchetto

    • The symbiotic slaughterfest continues, in the second installment of the stomach-churning study of ultraviolence called CARNAGE: BLACK, WHITE & BLOOD!

    • FIRST! The DAREDEVIL team of Chip Zdarsky & Marco Checchetto lends their brutal sensibilities to an eye-popping story pitting Carnage against THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN as you've never seen before!

    • THEN! Al Ewing, who's brought a nigh-unthinkable level of body horror to the world of the IMMORTAL HULK, lends his terrifying talents to a tale - and if you thought his HULK stuff looked painful, you ain't ready for what he's done with Carnage!

    • BUT WAIT! Because you readers out there in Mighty Marveldom deserve the best, we've brought comics heavyweight RAM V aboard for a story sure to make your skin crawl!

  • Marvel Comics DarkHawk Heart of the Hawk review

Darkhawk first appeared in a self titled series from 1991-1995. The main character, Chris Powell, witnessed his policeman father accept a bribe from a crime boss at an abandoned amusement park. While there he discovered an amulet that allowed him to switch places with an android located in another dimension known as Null Space that he could control with his mind. He used this android to combat villains. Darkhawk had his own title for around 50 issues. Watch this video to see if this new iteration of Darkhawk is enough to bring him to prominence.

  • Marvel Comics Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow

Marvel Comics fans may remember the old "What If?" series they used to publish. They would focus on a pivotal moment in Marvel history and show what may have happened if different decisions were made by the characters. Now instead of trying to restart the What If title, they are running mini-series under the same premise. Spider's Shadow deals with what may have happened if Peter Parker decided to keep the symbiote suit he brought back from Secret Wars. Watch the video to see if this story is worth following.

    Publishers Description

    (W) Chip Zdarsky (A) Pasqual Ferry (CA) Phil Noto

WHAT IF PETER PARKER BECAME VENOM? Peter Parker once put on an alien suit that nearly destroyed his life - but what if he'd never taken it off? Ignoring every warning, Spidey embraces the dark symbiote! Haunted by terrible nightmares and exhausted by an endless barrage of bad guys, Peter can't seem to catch a break these days. So when the Hobgoblin attacks, he finds a hero at the end of his rope...and vulnerable to new dark impulses. Spider-Man is about to change his rules - but is it truly Peter who is in charge? • Zenescope Man Goat & the Bunnyman review

Zenescope is known for their strong female characters. Their covers are typically adorned with very attractive women. Goat Man & the Bunnyman is a bit of a departure from their usual fare. Goat Man and Bunnyman are cryptids. A cryptid is a creature or plant whose existence has been suggested but has not been discovered or documented by the scientific community. There are a few people in the Ozark area that are not only aware of them, but interact with them. Goat Man and the Bunnyman actually help solve paranormal and normal crime in the area. They tend to leave a path of carnage in their wake, especially Bunnyman. Watch the video review to see is Goat Man & the Bunnyman make it to my pull list.

    Publisher Description

    (W) Joe Brusha & Various

Bigfoot, the Jersey Devil, the Loch Ness Monster. All are age old folklore fodder, but could they actually be real? In recent years the myth of Man Goat and The Bunny Man has grown locally, and many have claimed sightings of the two unique creatures; yet no concrete evidence exists... And that's exactly how they want it!

Dealing with the things nightmares are made of so we don't have to - deranged mutants, satanic cults, demons, summer vacationers - Man Goat and the Bunny Man protect us from the evils that hide in plain sight. But they don't want your adoration, they just want to be left alone!

  • Bad Idea Comics Eniac #2 review

I reviewed ENIAC #1 and was really intrigued with the concept. Issue #2 builds on the groundwork set up in the first issue. The first issue tied ENIAC in with the two bombs dropped to end WWII. This second issue makes Chernobyl part of ENIAC's story. When stories use actual historical events as part of their story it makes it much more interesting to me. Watch the video to see my review of ENIAC #2.

    Publisher Description

Seventy-seven years ago, the United States unlocked the key to defeating the Axis powers, but, in their desperation to end the war, created a far more powerful threat: ENIAC (Electronic Numerator Integrator and Computer), the world’s first supercomputer. ENIAC's calculations proved vital to turning the tide against Germany and Japan – until it ordered the second atomic bomb to be dropped on Nagasaki without any human order or approval. America had inadvertently created the first artificial intelligence without ever realizing the full extent of its abilities...or its ambitions. For the more than 50 years that followed, ENIAC manipulated global affairs from the shadows, waging a cold war that pitted spy against spy, nation against nation...until it went dark and disappeared from view. Now, years later, an encrypted countdown has just been detected in Earth's satellite network and mankind only has three days left before ENIAC executes its endgame. With few options and even less time, the Secretary of Defense has just given two covert operatives the most important mission in human history: kill ENIAC…before it kills us.

  • Bad Idea Comics Tankers #1 review

Bad Idea Comics is really making a name for themselves in the comic book world. Their unorthodox advertising and great production quality has set them apart from the other publishers. Tankers is the second comic they have published. This is a story about an oil company that is trying to prevent a worldwide shortage of oil. To do that they go to the source... dinosaurs. You read that correctly. They develop time travel for the sole purpose of going back in time and preventing the meteor from hitting Earth, thus preventing the demise of the dinosaurs. What they didn't account for was if the meteor doesn't kill the dinos, what will? The answer is ... nothing. Watch the video for my review of Tankers #1.

    Publisher Description

The CEO of global energy conglomerate Greenleaf Oil has just discovered a terrifying secret: the planet only has a decade or less of petroleum left before it's gone forever. But he has a plan to make sure his great-great grandchildren can continue to generate maximum shareholder value – and secure his own legacy in the process. Rather than develop a game-changing renewable energy source through the power of corporate innovation, Greenleaf has perfected the next best thing – time travel (duh) – so that a team of six field-rat contractors armed to the teeth in individually customized mech suits can go back to the Cretaceous Period, tweak the trajectory of the meteor that killed the dinosaurs, and give mankind another 500 millennia worth of oil reserves. What could go wrong? Only all of human history, of course – because when Greenleaf's team of Tankers come home, they'll discover that not only did the dinosaurs never die out, they’ve kept evolving for another 60 million years...and they’re more pissed off than ever.

  • DC Comics Green Lantern #1 review

I have always been a huge Green Lantern fan. I didn't even mind the movie (they should've used a better villain). The idea of all the different color Lantern Corps reflecting the spectrum of emotions is an idea I love. I even like the newer Green Lanterns, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, and Keli Quintela. There hasn't been a good Lantern series since Red Lanterns was cancelled. Imagine how happy I was to learn that there is another Green Lantern title with John Stewart as the main man. Watch my review to see if Green Lantern #1 meets my lofty expectations.

    Publisher Description

    (W) Geoffrey Thorne (A) Dexter Soy (CA) Bryan Hitch

As this new Green Lantern series begins, the newly formed United Planets and the Guardians of the Universe hold an intergalactic summit to decide who can best serve and protect the cosmos from danger. With the majority of Green Lanterns called back to Oa, John Stewart arrives alongside Teen Lantern Keli Quintela, whose powerful gauntlet could be one of the most powerful and unstable weapons in the universe. With the entire landscape of the universe in flux, is this the end of the Green Lantern Corps...or a new beginning?
