In our study of Nehemiah, we have come to the ninth chapter. Here we find that, after celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles in the right way for the first time since the days of Joshua the son of Nun, the Jews in Nehemiah’s day didn’t just disperse and go back to their daily lives. They engaged in a “protracted meeting,” continuing to worship God with zeal! They stayed focused on the word of God, which brought conviction, separation, and confession.
