Zone-casts: Heel Turn

John is away this week, so Owen invites Heel Alternative’s Oscar Bernard to watch the WWE product and discuss it. They talk SmackDown being defeated by Frosty the Snowman, a Starrcade without the advertised main event, and an episode of Raw that was decent to people who regularly watch Raw.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: an abhorrently racist thing happened in wrestling this week, so the PLURresu posse spend a significant portion of the show talking about it. Luckily, John, Oscar and Trace manage to find some bright spots via superlative episodes of NXT and AEW Dynamite, NXT TakeOver WarGames predictions and the alleged perversions of the rich and powerful. (Extremely alleged. (Do not sue.))

With both Ring of Honor seeming like it’s about to stop existing and WWE showing utter contempt for their talent this week, John, Oscar and Trace take a deep look at the future of organized labor in the wrestling business. Plus: we test if Oscar knows the Full Gear card; talk about Dustin Rhodes’ love of Billie Joe Armstrong; and play “It’s NXT! Do You Care?”

Owen and John discuss WWE almost not getting out of Saudi Arabia, and all the details they can gather about it from different sources. Plus NXT invaded Raw and SmackDown to make those shows way better than usual.

John and Trace take an in-depth look at the events surrounding NXT Breakout Tournament winner Jordan Myles’ week of controversy, and have a frank discussion about the institutionalized racism endemic in WWE.
