In this episode you will hear how when Lisa lost her Father at a very early age and being the youngest of 5 children, money was very tight when she was growing up. When Lisa was 16 years old she got a job and opened up a checking and savings account and would put money in her savings account with every paycheck. Lisa really liked watching her account grow and learned from her Mom that you never want to spend more than what you are saving. When Lisa entered college she took out student loans and knew she had to pay them back so she worked 3 jobs to be able to pay them back because this was her first debt. Lisa also had her first experience with credit cards and discovered how easy it was to get in to debt and how long it takes to pay those off if you are not using them correctly. Lisa now was on her own as her Mom passed away when she was 26 years old and had to figure things out as she had a lot of debt to pay back. Lisa then moved to Las Vegas and got a job with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department where she worked for the next 25 years and was able to retire at an early age.
