Erik Aude is an American actor, stuntman, writer, restaurnteur, and professional poker player who was arrested and imprisoned in Pakistan for 3 years for alleged drug trafficking. In 2002, Erik was persuaded to carry leather samples from Pakistan to the U.S., unaware of the fact that the suitcase given to him also had opium sewed into the lining. While in prison, Erik was forced to endure torture, constant threats on his life, bounties on his head, and a severely corrupt legal system with little to no help from the outside.
Erik tells Mark all about his harrowing journey from first flying over the Pakistan, being sentenced to 7 years in prison, getting tortured for information he didn’t know, having to fight for his life, learning both the language and the Pakistani legal system, becoming a lawyer, and using his hard work and determination to not only fight for his own case, all while maintaining his innocence, but also help others who were in prison with him.
