#065 - Developing the Leadership Skills and Mindset to Thrive in a VUCA World with David Gouthro

Listen Later

The past couple of years have been anything but predictable. A lot of people have found the sudden need to constantly adapt to undesired change completely exhausting.

On this episode of The Workplace Communication Podcast, we talk with David Gouthro, Professional Speaker and Consultant, about letting go of our need to feel comfortable, embracing ambiguity and simply stepping into the reality of the present moment.

Listen in and discover how to bring a lightness and sense of fulfillment back to your organization.

Leadership tips you won't want to miss:

🎙️ how to keep up when the ground underneath you is continually shifting

🎙️ the grief process needed to let go of wishing things were different than they are

🎙️ the most critical interpersonal skills needed to be successful as a leader

🎙️ shifting from having conversations about people who are different than us to having them with those who are different than us

A seasoned (but not too spicy!) speaker with over 40 years experience, David Gouthro is a sought-after consultant who is best known for his creative presentations, playful demeanor, and relentless focus on delivering value to his clients, colleagues and community. David's experience comes from supporting clients on four continents, in organizations that range from mining, energy, healthcare and financial services… to high tech, biotech, government and the not-for profit sector.

As the father of a precocious 21-year-old daughter Anna, he has been forced to embrace the qualities of humility, patience, good humour and… acceptance of his own parental inadequacies! The main focus of his current business involves working with individuals and groups who have no one else to point to as excuses for their own inaction. This has led him to spend the majority of his time helping executive teams and Boards make the tough decisions required to grow their businesses in a complex and unpredictable economic environment.

If you're looking to get creative and innovative, then this episode is for you!
