~ What do you text your family? ~

皆さんは、家族とどうやって連絡を取りますか？

私の場合、家族のLINEグループがあって、2日に1回くらいそこでメッセージをやり取りしています。

と言っても、メッセージを送ってくるのはいつも母で、今日行ったところや、地元の雪の様子などを送ってきます。

父はグループにいるのですがLINEを見てすらいなくて、兄2人はたまにしか返信しないので、いつも私が母のつぶやきに返信をしています😂

皆さんは、家族とどんなメッセージのやり取りをしますか？

みなさんは、かぞくと どうやって れんらくをとりますか？

わたしの ばあい、かぞくの らいんぐるーぷがあって、ふつかに いっかいくらい そこで めっせーじを やりとりしています。

といっても、めっせーじを おくってくるのは いつも ははで、きょう いったところや、じもとの ゆきの ようすなどを おくってきます。

ちちは ぐるーぷに いるのですが らいんを みてすらいなくて、あに ふたりは たまにしか へんしんしないので、いつも わたしが ははの つぶやきに へんしんをしています。

How do you contact your family?

In my case, we have a family LINE group, and we exchange messages there about once every two days.

But it is always my mother who sends us messages, telling us where she went today, how much snow they have in our hometown, etc.

My father is in the group but he doesn't even check the LINE and my two older brothers only reply occasionally, so I always reply to my mother's talk.

~ Taboos for a baby gift ~

今日は、昔働いていた会社の後輩と赤ちゃんがうちに遊びに来てくれます。

出産祝いをあげようと思っているのですが、日本では、緑茶、ハンカチ、包丁などの刃物は、出産祝いとしてあげてはいけないと言われています。

なぜだかわかりますか？

きょうは、むかし はたらいていた かいしゃの こうはいと あかちゃんが うちに あそびに 来てくれます。

しゅっさんいわいを あげようと おもっているのですが、にほんでは、りょくちゃ、ハンカチ、ほうちょうなどの はものは、しゅっさんいわいとして あげては いけないと いわれています。

なぜだか わかりますか？

Today my former colleagues from a company I used to work for and their babies are coming over my apartment.

I am thinking of giving them baby gifts.

~ Where would you like to live in Japan? ~

皆さんは、日本のどこかに住めるなら、どこに住みたいですか？

移住したい都道府県ランキングで、群馬県が1位になったそうです。

生活費や教育費の安さ、東京への近さ、災害リスクの低さが人気の理由だそうです。

私は、地元以外で選ぶとしたら沖縄に住みたいですが、皆さんはどうですか？

みなさんは、にほんの どこかに すめるなら、どこに すみたいですか？

いじゅうしたい とどうふけん らんきんぐで、ぐんまけんが いちいに なったそうです。

せいかつひや きょういくひの やすさ、とうきょうへの ちかさ、さいがい りすくの ひくさが にんきの りゆうだそうです。

わたしは、じもと いがいで えらぶとしたら おきなわに すみたいですが、みなさんは どうですか？

If you could live anywhere in Japan, where would you want to live?

Gunma Prefecture has been ranked first as the most desired relocation destination.

The low cost of living and education, proximity to Tokyo, and low risk of disasters are said to be the reasons for its popularity.

If I had to choose somewhere other than my hometown, I would like to live in Okinawa.

~ If a cuckoo doesn’t sing, what would Oda Nobunaga have done? ~

昨日徳川家康の話をしたので、織田信長、豊臣秀吉、徳川家康の英雄3人が詠んだ、

有名な俳句をご紹介します。

ホトトギスという鳥を鳴かせる方法について、3人がこの俳句を詠みました。

鳴かぬなら、殺してしまえ、ホトトギス

鳴かぬなら、鳴かせてみよう、ホトトギス

鳴かぬなら、鳴くまで待とう、ホトトギス

全然性格が違うと言われた3人の将軍ですが、誰がどの歌を詠んだか、わかりますか？

きのう とくがわ いえやすの はなしを したので、おだ のぶなが、とよとみ ひでよし、とくがわ いえやすの えいゆう さんにんが よんだ、ゆうめいな はいくを ごしょうかいします。

ほととぎす という とりを なかせる ほうほうについて、さんにんが この はいくを よみました。

なかぬなら、ころしてしまえ、ほととぎす

なかぬなら、なかせてみよう、ほととぎす

なかぬなら、なくまでまとう、ほととぎす

ぜんぜん せいかくが ちがうと いわれた さんにんの しょうぐんですが、だれが どのうたをよんだか、わかりますか？

Since we talked about Tokugawa Ieyasu yesterday, today I would like to introduce famous haiku written by three heroes, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

The three generals wrote these haiku about how to make a bird called Hototogisu (cuckoo) sing.

If it doesn’t sing, kill it.

If it doesn’t sing, try to make it sing.

If it doesn’t sing, be patient until it does.

These three generals were said to have completely different personalities, but can you guess who wrote which haiku?

【Today’s words】

Someone sent cuckoos to the three generals, but they wouldn’t sing.

And then the three generals made these haiku （Japanese poetry that consists three lines.）

Oda Nobunaga said,

鳴（な）かぬなら、殺（ころ）してしまえ、ホトトギス

＝鳴かないなら、殺してしまえ、ホトトギス

/ If the cuckoo doesn’t sing, kill it.

※ It‘s said that he had temper and was aggressive.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi said,

鳴かぬなら、鳴かせてみよう、ホトトギス

/ If the cuckoo doesn’t sing, try to make it sing.

※ It’s said that he was creative.

Tokugawa Ieyasu said,

鳴かぬなら、鳴くまで待とう、ホトトギス

/ If the cuckoo doesn’t sing, be patient until it does.

※ It‘s said that he was patient.

~ 🙈🙉🙊~

「見ざる、言わざる、聞かざる」という猿の彫刻を知っていますか？

徳川家康という有名な将軍のお墓がある、栃木県の日光東照宮という神社にあります。

一方で、埼玉県にある神社に、「よく見て、よく聞いて、よく話そう」という、「お元気三猿」の彫刻があることを、最近知りました。

どちらも徳川家の神社なのですが、正反対なのが面白いですね。

「みざる、いわざる、きかざる」という さるの ちょうこくを しっていますか？

とくがわ いえやす という ゆうめいな しょうぐんの おはかが ある、とちぎけんの にっこうとうしょうぐう という じんじゃに あります。

いっぽうで、さいたまけんにある じんじゃに、「よく みて、よく きいて、よく はなそう」という、「おげんき さんざる」の ちょうこくが あることを さいきん しりました。

どちらも とくがわけの じんじゃなのですが、せいはんたいなのが おもしろいですね。

Do you know the “see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil” monkey sculpture?

It‘s in a shrine called Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture, where the tomb of a famous shogun named Tokugawa Ieyasu is located.

On the other hand, I recently learned that a shrine in Saitama Prefecture has a sculpture of “Ogenki Sanzaru,” which indicates “Look well, listen well, and talk well”.

Both of these shrines belong to the Tokugawa family, but it’s interesting that what those two sculptures are saying are complete opposite.

皆さんは、お気に入りのコンビニがありますか？

日本では、セブンイレブン、ファミリーマート、ローソンの3つが人気があります。

インターネットの記事によると、一番人気なのはセブンイレブンで、2位がローソン、3位がファミマだそうです。

お菓子やご飯のおかずが美味しいので、私もセブンが一番好きです。

皆さんは、どのコンビニが一番好きですか？

みなさんは、おきにいりの こんびにが ありますか？

にほんでは、せぶんいれぶん、ふぁみりーまーと、ろーそんの みっつが にんきがあります。

いんたーねっとの きじによると、いちばん にんきなのは せぶんいれぶんで、にいが ろーそん、さんいが ふぁみまだそうです。

おかしや ごはんの おかずが おいしいので、わたしも せぶんが いちばん すきです。

According to an Internet article, 7-Eleven is the most popular, Lawson is second, and Family Mart is third.

I also like Seven eleven the best because of their good snacks and packed side dishes.

~ Quokkas are so cute! ~

皆さんは、いつか見てみたいと思う動物がいますか？

最近、インスタでクォッカの写真や動画をよく見ています。

おすすめにクォッカの投稿が出てきて以来、笑顔がかわいすぎて、

いつか会ってみたいと思っています。

日本では埼玉県の動物園で見れるみたいなので、少し遠いですが行ってみようと思います。

みなさんは、いつか みてみたいと おもう どうぶつが いますか？

さいきん、いんすたで くぉっかの しゃしんや どうがを よく みています。

おすすめに くぉっかの とうこうが でてきて いらい、えがおが かわいすぎて、

Ever since a quokka post came up in my recommendations, I’ve wanted to meet them someday because their smile is just too cute.

In Japan, I heard that you can see them at a zoo in Saitama. It’s a little far, but I’ll go there.

~ Would you let your children have candy? ~

ある国では、子供用のお菓子に砂糖を入れるのが禁止されていると聞きました。

賛否が分かれそうなトピックですが、とても素敵な環境だなと思いました。

というのも、私は甘いものが大好きすぎるくらい大好きで、今は健康のために砂糖をなるべく摂らないようにしているからです。

小さい頃の環境が違っていたら、食べ物の好みも違っていたのかなと思います。

皆さんは、どう思いますか？

ある くにでは、こどもようの おかしに さとうを いれるのが きんしされていると ききました。

さんぴが わかれそうな とぴっくですが、とても すてきな かんきょうだなと おもいました。

というのも、わたしは あまいものが だいすきすぎるくらい だいすきで、

いまは けんこうのために さとうを なるべく とらないように しているからです。

ちいさいころの かんきょうが ちがっていたら、たべものの このみも ちがっていたのかな とおもいます。

みなさんは、どう おもいますか？

I heard that in some countries it‘s not allowed to put sugar in candy for children.

This would be a controversial topic, but I thought that is a very nice environment.

Because I love sweets too much and now I’ve been trying not to eat sugar as much as possible for my health.

And I wonder if my food preferences would have been different if I had been in a different environment when I was little.

~ Lie-flat seats on a bus ~

皆さんは夜行バスに乗ったことがありますか？

新幹線や飛行機と比べるととても安く移動ができるのですが、バスで座ったまま一晩寝るのが辛いというのがデメリットでした。

でも3月から、東京〜高知間で、フルフラットシートのバスができるそうです。

私は、上の人が落ちてきたりしないのかなと、少し心配になりました😂

皆さんはどう思いますか？

みなさんは やこうばすに のったことが ありますか？

しんかんせんや ひこうきと くらべると とても やすく いどうができるのですが、

バスで すわったまま ひとばん ねるのが つらいというのが でめりっとでした。

でも さんがつから、とうきょう こうちかんで、ふるふらっとしーとの ばすが できるそうです。

わたしは、うえの ひとが おちてきたり しないのかなと しんぱいに なりました。

The downsides was that it was hard to sleep overnight while sitting on the bus.

But starting in March, you can take the bus with lie-flat seats between Tokyo and Kochi.

I was worried that the person on top of you might fall off.

~ Embarrassing hairstyle ~

皆さんは、今思うと恥ずかしいな、と思う髪型をしたことがありますか？

当時は良いと思っていた髪型が、今見てみるととてもダサいことはよくあると思います。

私が中学生くらいのとき、下ろした前髪にアメピンを何個かつける髪型が流行りました。

今となっては恐ろしいですが、当時はみんなしていたなと思うと面白いです。

みなさんは、いま おもうと はずかしいな、とおもう かみがたを したことが ありますか？

とうじは いいと おもっていた かみがたが、いま みてみると とても ださいことは よく あるとおもいます。

わたしが ちゅうがくせい くらいの とき、おろした まえがみに あめぴんを なんこか つける かみがたが はやりました。

いまとなっては おそろしいですが、とうじは みんな していたなと おもうと おもしろいです。
