Leadership is one of the most important things there is.
It’s where we make the biggest impact, and I used to not be so great at it.
Listen now
Being a parent is the most important leadership position we can have.
That’s because we’re raising the next generation of leaders. Even though the outside world can influence kids, where they learn and build their belief systems are in our homes.
I didn’t always get it right.
However, the more self aware, the more work, the more humility, and the more that I take different effective action with compassion, love and understanding—instead of guilt, and shame, and loathing—the more proud I am of the legacy I’m leaving behind. The leadership I’m most proud of is the leadership I have in my home.
When asked to describe their leadership style, even the most savvy leaders can feel confused.
It’s hard to pinpoint that style if you lack self-awareness, and the Enneagram is what helped me access that. It helped me get to know the ins and outs of who I am.
Our leadership style directly grows from our Enneagram style, and when you understand the Enneagram, this becomes so clear. From that clarity can emerge huge acceptance for your strengths and the possibility of transformative growth.
Here are the 9 different leadership paradigms of the Enneagram:
Type 1: Lead by example and standard setting
Type 2: Lead by motivation and encouragement
Type 3: Lead by goals, plans, and results
Type 4: Lead by vision, connection, creativity, and compassion
Type 5: Lead by research, deliberation, and planning
Type 6: Lead by creative problem solving
Type 7: Lead by new ideas, innovation, and fun
Type 8: Lead by strategy and big action
Type 9: Lead by consensus and diplomacy
