INTRO: (00:00) We have a guest googler, Jen Byrne with us this week! And she did a 10K Day, which means Alison didn't prepare one, or anything at all, actually. WISHLIST: (16:00) Alison is wishing for these dishwashing gloves, even though they are called Magic Saksak, don't let that deter you. Jen is wishing for a Subaru Crosstrek. Lulu wants to see King Lear in NYC.

JEN’S 10K DAY - PHUKET, THAILAND: (22:29) Five-star hotel and wellness resort Keemala Phuket's bird nest villa is picturesque, to say the least. After a shopping spree Jen takes a private speedboat out to her islands of choice. Next she heads to Kathu Waterfall, Monkey Hill, and the Big Buddha. Jen's evening involves taking in the Phuket Weekend Night Market and dancing 'til dawn at Illuzion Phuket.

LULU’S 10K DAY - KANSAS CITY: (50:48) The state line dividing Kansas and Missouri goes through this up-and-coming city. Lulu found a bed and breakfast called Southmoreland on the Plaza. Lulu heads to the Hallmark headquarters for a tour and decides to get this singing stuffed animal for the next 31 people that leave us a review on Apple Podcasts. Lulu gets BBQ and an interesting cocktail at Q39. Her next stop is The Monarch Bar where she wears this very-on-theme MNM Couture gown. The Corvino tasting room, Blue Room at the American Jazz Museum, and Winstead's caps off her day.

WISHLIST: (8:23) Alison is wishing for this pool float from Sam's Club. Lulu is really really wishing for an unlimited membership to Rent the Runway.

LULU'S 10K DAY - WATERLOO, BELGIUM: (15:23) Lulu drops her bags at Martin’s Grand Hotel, and goes in search of the best street vendor Belgian waffles. A stop at ZigZ Waterloo Cafe occupies her time as she waits for Alison and their friend and pianist Jason Wetzel to arrive. You see, Lulu has rented out Cabaret Mademoiselle in Brussels, and with some costumes from Fourth Wall Scenic, the three of them are going to put on a Mamma Mia! themed cabaret. After the show Lulu treats herself and her guests to the tasting menu at La Sucrerie.

ALISON'S 10K DAY - TEQUILA, MEXICO: (31:29) Alison found Hotel Boutique La Cofradia which is the only boutique hotel inside a tequila factory. The hotel offers so many excursions and activities in-house. Alison rides the tequila tram, learns how to make tequila, goes rappelling, dines at the hotel's tavern twice, and takes a night tour of the tequila fields and factory. At that point she's only spent $600, so she buys 24 bottles of  Tres-Quatro-Cinco a family secret blend of three-, four-, and five-year aged tequilas. At $390 a bottle, this might be the most expensive souvenir we've ever gotten.

LULU’S 10K DAY - LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA: (13:47) "Dr Livingstone, I presume?" Nope, it's Lulu we found at The Royal Livingstone. Lulu buys some Chitenge fabric at the Maramba Market before heading to Emmah's Wear to get some custom-made clothing.
Lunch service on a train going through the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, provides many Instagrammable moments. Dinner at the Elephant Café, is a wow, especially because she decides to share it with a friend, bringing our producer Ash along for the trip. Alison is not happy she's not invited. Next imaginary trip, okay?

ALISON’S 10K DAY - ANTARTICA: (27:53) You can't independently book travel here, but luckily Alison found White Desert, which flys you in to their luxury pod camp via private jet from Cape Town. To look the part (and keep from freezing) she buys a bond girl-worthy snowsuit, and some furry Saint Laurent booties. She has to fudge the numbers a bit, but the Ice & Mountain Adventure takes her to the Drygalski mountain range, treks through series of ice tunnels, and on a visit to the coast where giant ice waves rise up from the ground in surreal formations. Her Instagram is going to be lit.

OBSESSIONS: (6:35) Alison's facial steam inhaler has been a life saver with her vocal chord/breathing problems. Lulu is obsessed with a snack she discovered while in Hong Kong, Golden Duck's Singapore salted egg crab seaweed tempura.

WISHLIST: (9:27) Alison's wishlist is a portable bathroom for your car. I mean there are adult diapers? Lulu is wishing for a new microphone. While she loves her blue snowball mic, it is heavy and she wants a lighter one.

ALISON’S 10K DAY - OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI: (15:43) Alison visits the home of Ole Miss and stays at a Airbnb located in the heart of downtown. She hires Queenissippi Catering to cook for her throughout the day at her house. Armed with an electric skateboard, Alison spends the morning at The Oxford Skate Park. She gets the SOS Take Me Away package at the Suthern Oasis Spa. She gives a masterclass to the students of Ole Miss's Ghostlight Repertory Theater, then invites them to her house to have a dinner catered by McEwen's. While Simply Clean Oxford cleans up after her dinner party, Alison takes the aspiring thespians to The Library, a popular spot with an 18+ club, where she buys a round, for those that can legally drink, of course.

LULU’S 10K DAY - MEMPHIS, TN: (31:08) Lulu stays in the Presidential Suite at the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. She rents a 1967 Cadillac Deville from Morrie's Heritage to get her around her day of reliving Marc Cohn's Walking In Memphis. She's got blue suede shoes, W.C. Handy looking over her, and the ghost of Elvis. She visits Graceland, where she's the pretty little thing in the Jungle Room. Catfish is on the table, then she listens to some music where Muriel played piano. Then its back to the Peabody for a seven course dinner at Chez Philippe.

INTRO: (00:00) We have a guest googler this week, Andrea Canny! Andrea's lived overseas a bunch and is just fun to hang out with, as the minutes of giggling at the beginning of this episode prove. Andrea tells us about traveling solo as a woman, traveling with friends, traveling for work. She loves to travel and clearly has some tales. Good thing she's a guest on a travel podcast.

OBSESSIONS: (15:44) Alison is obsessed with her new phone holder for her car. Lulu is obsessed with the modernized Company, she saw it in London recently. Andrea is obsessed with Ricky Gervais' After Life on Netflix.

WISHLIST: (24:39) Alison wishes there were three of her. How does cloning work? Lulu wants the Ted Baker Gansu bag. Andrea is wishing for financial independence so she can follow her creative dreams.

ALISON’S 10K DAY - LOCH NESS, UNITED KINGDOM: (29:00) Alison is headed to Loch Ness in the United Kingdom with our guest googler Andrea and Lulu in tow. Hence the three-bedroom Airbnb.  The Loch Ness Luxury Private Sightseeing Excursion comes with a luxury Mercedes Benz vehicle driven by a local chauffeur which Alison is elated about because she HATES DRIVING. The ladies embark on the Great Glen Kayak Trip before a little carving at their Nordic Woodcraft in the Forest excursion. Now for the big one, they go in search of "Nessie" on the Deepscan Vessel out in the Loch Ness waters. Alison looked for a Loch Ness monster prop to scare her friends but all she found was this. For a real taste of local flavor, they head to a Scottish home for an authentic meal, beer and bagpipes.

LULU’S 10K DAY - YEKATERINBURG, RUSSIA: (43:12) Lulu stays in a suite at the Novotel, whose concierge finds her a car and driver. There's breakfast at Simple Coffee, a Missing Anastasia tour, and hipster dumplings at Zames. Lulu knows how to say morozhenoye pozhaluysta, which means "ice cream, please", to get a scoop of pistachio at Russki Holod. Sennheiser earbuds and Pink Floyd's The Wall means she's prepared for an adventure in the psychedelic salt mines. Lastly to Gastroli Pub for a steak dinner.

Becca McCoy is known to audiences in her home base of Tampa Bay, Florida, for her performances as Eulalie in THE MUSIC MAN (Theatre Tampa Bay Award winner), Susan in FLYING (Best of the Bay Award winner), the Lady of the Lake in SPAMALOT (Theatre Tampa Bay Award nominee), and as Sleeping Beauty in DISENCHANTED! (Broadway World Tampa Award winner).  Becca has performed nationally in MOTHERHOOD THE MUSICAL and MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL.  Becca is also a cabaret artist whose one-woman show THE PEARL IN THE HOGWALLER sold out multiple performances at American Stage and won the Award of Excellence at the 2016 SaraSOLO Festival.  Becca was the recipient of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance’s inaugural MUSE People’s Choice Award in 2014, and has been awarded in musical theatre nationally by Young Arts and the National Society of Arts and Letters.  In March 2020, see her at TheatreZone in Naples, Florida as Mama Rose in GYPSY.
