Greetings & welcome back to the rose bros podcast.
This episode we are joined by John Hooks – Chairman & CEO of Phoenix Energy Services Corp, a publicly listed energy services company (TSX: PHX) with revenues of approximately $600 million.
John has been the CEO of Phoenix Technology Income Fund since 1995 and Chairman of the Board of Phoenix since 2000.
He was President of Phoenix Energy Services from 1995 until 2015.
Previous to joining Phoenix, Mr. Hooks founded Thread Tech Energy Systems Ltd., a private connection manufacturing and Fiberspar composite line pipe distribution company in 1985.
Thread Tech became Fiberspar Canada and provided services to the oil and gas industry until its assets were sold in June 2003.
We sat down for a smooth cup of rose bros coffee and discussed lessons from 40 years in the energy services sector, why there are fewer rigs running today than ever, higher energy production and record profits.
Enjoy!
