Entrepreneur and best-selling author Frank Fiume and I talk about his motivational quest for purpose, which didn’t hit him until after he’d already begun his career in medical sales. Frank saw an opportunity to transform men’s softball on Long Island, NY from a rag-tag amalgamation of disorganized leagues and created the largest sports organization on Long Island by simply giving players what they wanted: excellent service and product. Frank then spun that into i9 Sports, which is the largest private youth sports organization in the country with 170 franchises in 30 states with 2 million players participating.
As Frank says, progress isn’t a straight line, it’s a zig-zag, just as it is if you’re trying to lose weight, achieve sobriety, or keep your New Year’s resolutions. Frank hit one of his hardest ones when he got introduced to diet pills as an easy means to counter his workaholic lifestyle. Frank became a devotee of motivational superstar Tony Robbins, who helped him see that his life needed a new purpose. So Frank sold i9 Sports in 2017, and wrote a book called “Running with my Head Down: An Entrepreneur’s Story of Passion, Perseverance, and Purpose.” Frank shares how you can succeed if you have a vision and make it your mission to achieve it. Hopefully you'll enjoy his inspirational story.
