In examining Solomon’s life, we can see Hosea’s prophecy clearly illustrated: If you sow to the wind, you’ll reap the whirlwind in return. 
Solomon sowed disobedience and reaped a multi-generational harvest of the judgment of God for his family. Conversely, if we sow obedience to the wind, then God will answer with the rushing mighty wind of His Spirit, as found in Acts 2. It is still true today that you reap what you sow!
