How might energetic medicine assist us to be with grief? How might exploring our internal and external landscapes assist us with the process of walking alongside grief?

Grief is a primal, integral part of the human experience. And yet, many of us find it challenging to be with, to process, and to understand our experiences with grief.

In this potently alive conversation, Marika Clymer and I discussed Marika's experiences with grief and how it led to her upcoming offering, The Cartography of Grief.

This is the first conversation I recorded with Marika since completing a year-long apprenticeship with her in 2022. We also discussed the evolution of Marika's practice, how I've integrated her teachings into my path, and our unique experiences with the structural shifts that death and grief can bring.

Cartography of Grief is a 2-month online journey to explore the landscape of grief in an intimate community that will meet every other Saturday from February 3rd through March 16th, 2024. Registration will close on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 or when all spots are filled. There is also an optional, in-person retreat in March, where participants will gather in the forests of Washington state for an opportunity to integrate the journey through an embodied relationship with the land.

Marika's bio: 

Marika Clymer was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and spent her childhood hunting and fishing alongside her dad throughout Snohomish County and the greater Puget Sound area. Marika feels that her upbringing gifted her the framework of Energetic Ecology, where she blends energetic medicine with ecological perspectives. She has dedicated her life to this endeavor, with over a decade as a healing practitioner, 7 years in agriculture, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, and a lifetime of galavanting through the woods. Her knowledge and expertise is woven throughout many subjects, including Reiki and energy cultivation practices, agricultural mycology, wilderness survival, sustainability, wild plants & fungi, and much more. Marika provides personal healing sessions, mentorships, and opportunities that help bridge the modern divide between body & land.
