The Pacific Island nation of Kiribati is one of the most remote places on Earth, seemingly far removed from the pressures of modern life. Yet it is among the first countries forced to confront the greatest existential dilemma of our time: imminent annihilation from rising sea levels.

Set against the backdrop of international climate and human rights negotiations, this story follows director Matthieu Rytz’s quest to amplify the voice of President Anote Tong as he fights to save 100,000 people living in a country spread across an area the size of Australia.
