Miguel Estrada is a pediatric and neurodevelopmental psychoanalyst. Trained in the UK, he has worked several years in the NHS, as well as in the private sector. He was the clinical director of two daycare centers for children with autism, and responsible for the project Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TAMHS). He returned to Portugal in 2012, and now works as the coordinator to the satellite project of TaMHS in Portugal. He’s the author of the books “Um mapa para chegar ao coração da criança” [“A map to arrive at the child’s heart”], and “Ouvir o que a criança não diz” [“Listening to what the child doesn’t say”].

He has just published a new book, “A vida é um sopro” [“Life is a Breath”], co-authored with Dr. António Coimbra de Matos, which is the topic of the interview. We talk about depression and suicide; the creation of scapegoats and narcissism; impulsivity disorders in children; the TaMHS; and modern psychoanalysis.

Acabou de publicar também o livro “A vida é um sopro”, em coautoria com o Prof. António Coimbra de Matos, que é o tema desta entrevista. Falamos sobre depressão e suicídio; da criação de bodes expiatórios e narcisismo; transtornos de impulsividade nas crianças; do TaMHS; e da psicanálise moderna.
