Intuitive Eating Series, Principle 2. Josée Sovinsky, RD and therapist-in-training, joins us to talk about why it may feel so complicated, and challenging, to really honor and trust our hunger. Intuitive Eating (IE) is often simplified down to “The Hunger and Fullness Diet”, but there’s far more to this non-diet approach than simply “eat when you’re hungry!” Even when we focus on hunger, there are various types of hunger, both physical and psychological hunger cues, and reasons for which we might eat even if we aren’t hungry in that exact moment. We hope this conversation helps you navigate the nuances of your own hunger cues and your body’s needs, especially during times of change, uncertainty, stress, and rest.
For reading: “I don’t have to be happy with my body 100% of the time, but I can still feed it.”
