Episode Title:ย ๐บ๐ธ The Restoration of Lost Function - Biomedical Engineering, BMI & Neuroprosthetics๐บ๐ธ
I had such an enlightening conversation with my guest today on the #HTNeurotechSeries on Heads Talk.ย Despite the fact that during the recording, I had a throbbing headache,ย Professor Abidemi Bolu Ajiboye,ย Case Western Reserve University, kept me engaged in the incredible work he and his team are doing.ย Not surprised by the many accolades received.ย
Prof. Ajiboye's main research interest is in the development and control of BMI Neuroprosthetic technologies for restoring function to individuals who have experienced severely debilitating injuries to the nervous system, such as spinal cord injury and stroke.ย
The end goal of his research is to develop BMI systems that allow for more natural interactions with oneโs surrounding environment, and more natural control of assistive technologies, such as artificial limbs and functional electrical stimulation (FES) based systems.
