In this recording from one of our community meetups via Zoom, John Ladd presents his trailcraft ideas for JMT (or John Muir Trail) hikers. During this presentation, John goes over lesser known trail hacks based on his experience in the Sierra, his extensive research, and JMT survey results. John has spent over 250 days in the Sierra range over the past 12 years and is the head of many JMT social networks. He also has conducted annual post-hike surveys since 2012 and now has information from 6,000 hikes totalling in at 1 million miles. If you are a future JMT hiker (or even a weekend backpacker or longer distance hiker) definitely give this a listen; you'll probably learn something and gain takeaways that could enhance future hikes!
