On the back of his two poles and Sprint race win, Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen led the US GP from start to finish, beating Lando Norris (McLaren-Mercedes) by eight seconds. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished an excellent P3 after choosing to start the race on soft-compound Pirellis; his team-mate, Sir Lewis Hamilton, finished fourth; and a lackluster Oscar Piastri took P5 in the other McLaren-Mercedes, ahead of George Russell (factory Mercedes), Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull-Honda), Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber-Ferrari), Oliver Bearman (Haas-Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin-Mercedes). In this video Peter details the brilliance of Verstappen's performance; explains why, in his opinion, McLaren under-performed; and highlights the sheer quality of Charles Leclerc's race to P3. Also included in this podcast is a special interview with Mark Slade, the championship-winning race engineer at McLaren, Renault and Mercedes. In conversation with Peter, Mark tees up the weekend with a perceptive look at the events of Free Practice on Friday.
