“For both awards, the race is tight, and there are countless deserving candidates.”

“For the time honoured Stephen Coniglio award for worst on in 2025, Christian Petracca was more focused on his brand than finding the pill, Caleb Serong did about as much damage with the ball as prime Zac Dawson. Brisbane duo Dayne Zorko and Lachie Neale did everything they could to drive Streety to insanity, with Jason Horne-Francis doing the same to Oz.  The coaches were typically deplorable, rookies let us down and even our hosts racked up votes as they tend to do. Making this the most open count in history,

“And then there is the greatest award in football, the Jack Steele medal for the best on in 2025. Last years winner Marcus Bontempelli once again starred, but will his delayed start to the season hurt him? Star midfielders Isaac Heeney, Nick Daicos, Bailey Smith and Jordan Dawson all showed why they are the cream of the crop, and will no doubt be there when the whips are cracking. But its more than just a midfielders award that’s for sure, key forwards like Sam Darcy, ruckman like TDK, Tristan Xerri and Rowan Marshall, as well as defenders like Lachie Whitfield, Jack Sinclair and Harry Sheezel all sit here tonight dreaming of perhaps joining the anals of history by claiming the medal.
