This is part two of a really fun episode with two very impressive track athletes, Camden Law of Chatfield H.S. and Jake Culig of Bear Creek H.S., who finished 2nd and 3rd at the Colorado 5A State meet in the 800 meters. As I mentioned before, even if you’re not a high school track fan, I think there is a lot to gain from listening to these insightful young men. In the previous episode #215, we talked about how these young men developed as runners, their training and racing strategies and experiences, and the bond they developed in competition. In this episode, we talk more about dealing with running injuries, running during lockdown, shoe technology, running in college, college recruiting, and what is timely after the recently-completed World Track and Field Championships in Eugene, OR which barely was a blip on the consciousness of the American public, ways track could be more popular to sports fans. These young men are great testaments to how hard work, dedication, and terrific character and humility can lead to dramatic improvements and ultimately tremendous success.
