In todays episode, I am chatting with Mark Wilson about a subject I’ve always wanted to learn more about and that is hardfacing. I’M sure you all have seen the crazy ornate weld patterns on bull dozer blades, loader buckets, dredge shovels and excavator teeth. Well, the welds are just more than something cool to look at. They’re put on to prevent wear and tear on the attachment. But there’s a certain way these welds need to be put on and there’s certain electrode that should be used based on the type of wear the equipment will encounter. Today Mark shares his experience and knowledge about all things hardfacing.
