I remember the first time I was asked to speak in front of over 100 people; I fell flat on my face. It was awful; I feared I had accepted a Regional Sales Manager position where I needed to speak monthly at regional meetings to inspire people to build deeper client relationships and grow their sales. So, what did I do? I cried all the way home, fearing I would fail the following week when I needed to present again.  You can imagine it was one tough and very long week building up to that second presentation. 

 

I nervously got back on the horse the following week for my second meeting.  I prepared like a crazy person, and I received a standing ovation at the end of the second event. Truthfully, I wanted to burst into tears at the end, thankful that I had completed the presentation without throwing up! 

 

Here’s the deal. Everyone is a public speaker. As soon as you open your mouth and start to speak, it is public. Speaking is a brilliant way to reach a bigger audience to build your brand, get known, and get clients. Reality check, most people avoid it due to fear. And it shows up in our lives as procrastination and self-doubt.
