Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus and Open Sesame

Where did these come from? While it may sound like something straight from the stage in Las Vegas, the truth is actually much more ancient and fascinating.

Abracadabra is not only a cure to illness but one of the oldest woo phrases, Hocus Pocus pokes fun at the Holy Roman Church and Open Sesame, well let’s just say its ancient magical healing powers predate the all the rest of our magic.
