In this Ask Me Anything episode, I answer the question, “How do you know when it’s time to switch companies?”

The grass isn’t always greener, but there are times when switching companies is the best option.

If I were considering switching companies, I’d make a list of the reasons I was considering leaving, sit with that list for a day or two, and then ask myself two questions:

• Is there a way to change things so that I can stay?
• Is this worth leaving and starting over?

Answering these questions will prevent you from making an emotional decision and trading one problem for another.

I give you a few suggestions on how to change your current situation, including how to get the support you need. 

If you decide to switch companies, I give you some things to consider when you’re choosing your next company, and I share advice on how to announce your decision and what your first steps should be so that you can hit the ground running.

I wrap up the episode by encouraging you to do some reflection before you make a move because, in most cases, changing companies won't change your results if you don’t change how you run your business.
