Sometimes the most cocky and most confident people are insecure and struggling with illegitimacy. Dr. Ray Self had everything money could buy but he wasn’t happy. He heard this message from the Lord: “You have built a house of cards on a foundation of sand.” After he lost everything, the Lord showed up in a bigger way than he could have imagined. A scheme is a plan against your life. It is a weapon formed against you that hits your entire life and repeats itself over and over.

Schemes can be:

• Rejection
• Fear
• Anxiety
• Shame
• Illegitimacy – the biggest scheme of all for Christians

Illegitimacy is an identity where you start to question yourself. You don’t believe that you are a son or a daughter. You are like an orphan without parents. “Are you really saved?”

How can you get free from the scheme over your life:

1. Recognize there is a scheme
2. Pray, ask for forgiveness for your part. Many times we cooperate with the scheme.
3. Ask God to give us strength to beat the scheme
4. In the name of Jesus Christ, we renounce the scheme. “In the name of Jesus Christ I declare it broken”.
5. Declare the truth from the Word of God
